PMD 2 - Dimensional Scream - When touching something, he may see and/or hear, visions of the past or future. It works when it wants to, he doesn’t really control it. PSMD - Given a special scarf by his partner that allows him to evolve into one of Eevee’s final evolutions. He has no control over which form it’s going to be, but it tends to lean towards forms he’s had in previous timelines.

[on the bright side you can’t even begin to fathom how happy I am to move on to the game that’s much more polished than its predecessor in how it plays]

[Adding onto that last post, sadly there will likely be no screenshots with my commentary this time. PMD sky plays a bit laggy for a rom and I literally physically have this game and a still mostly working 3DS. 

The worst part about this is that I will be losing my ability to save state however, which I will miss very much ;;v;;]

[I may finally move on to PMD 2 already.

I wanted to at least finish the post-game of PMD 1 but the dungeon I have to go through is.... well let’s just say level one reducing dungeons are definitely not my favorite kind.

I feel like I just figured out 99 floor dungeons and was feeling pretty confident about my ability for them, but jesus Joyous Tower is just a taste of what Wish Cave will be like and I hated every second of it. I didn’t even finish it, I got 12 floors down and escape orb’d out. That’s how much it breaks you if you don’t go in with the right stuff and I didn’t know shit.]

[I love how if this hadn’t been such an ordeal I really wouldn’t have cared about recruiting Mew. But you go through way too much effort to not have some sort of payoff. So here’s the little shit pink cat, after like 5 tries of defeating them and reloading the save state. And the hell that is Buried Relic requirements.

I do find it incredibly funny that I recruited them on adventure 150 so I figured I’d include that]

As Chief Organiser, Leon has a lot of work to do, including checking up on the Gyms’ supply demands and Trainer turnover. That was why, when he first stepped outside the Turffield Gym, it took him a second to realise who (or rather, what) had spoken to him.

Leon kneels down, getting closer to the eye-level of the team assembled before him as he examined each member in turn. No Trainer in sight, and a Chatot apparently caught playing pokemon-human translator. How unusual!

                     ❝  Oh, uh- Hello.  ❞

                     ❝  I admire your enthusiasm, but you need an endorsement before you can battle Galar’s Gyms. Only the best of the best will be able to complete our challenges, you see, so think of it as a vetting process.  ❞

There are more problems than just that (namely the fact that the Gym Challenge wouldn’t be up-and-running for the public until next summer), but surely such rules could be waived for wild pokemon. It isn’t like they’re going to be demanding uniform numbers and League cards and the Champion position - they probably just want to test their strength against a professional team!

                     ❝  But… I think this team has potential! I’d be happy to give you my personal endorsement, if that was something you wanted…?  ❞

Is he really about to write out an official letter of recommendation for wild pokemon? Why yes, he is! He’d hate for them to have made all this effort just to be stopped by a League technicality they couldn’t possibly have been aware of beforehand.

Endorsement? For all the random bits of information that Genesis had taken in about the pokemon league and gym battles, that must’ve been a detail he missed. He tilted his head in thought as he wondered about how they were supposed to get past that, until the man he thinks he’s seen on TV in passing, suggests that he’d give them personal endorsement. 

The Eevee became starry-eyed at the idea and the Chikorita at his side chimed in surprise. Only the Absol gave a calm “Sol.” In reply, which Chatot chose to translate that back instead of the excited grass-type.

“To put it simply: That would be nice, thank you very much!”

The Eevee looks around as a few of their teammates have apparently wandered somewhere beside the stadium, probably to get a look around. 

“Vee, eevoi.” Genesis adds as though the human, can understand him, and Chatot speaks up once more.

“He said: ‘We have more teammates than who’s here, we also have a Seel, Shuppet, and Hoothoot!” He chirps, “not me though! I’m just here to translate!”

“SEE THAT MEW?! I’LL BE BACK!”

There's a group of pokemon sitting outside of the first gym, calling out to anyone who seems to be going in to get their attention. No one has stopped to ask what in the world this group is doing here, but they seemingly are wild pokemon sitting together, with a very adamant Eevee in front.

The second someone from the staff steps outside, a Chatot resting on the Absol's head squawks. "Hello! They would like to challenge the gym please!"

"Eevoi!" The Eevee replies proudly, with the Chikorita at his side mimicking his posture. Everyone here thinks this is possibly the dumbest thing they've ever done, challenging a human pokemon league for fun. But Genesis believes they can do it, Noe sticks by him no matter what, Crescent goes where they go... and Chatot is just along for the ride. He gets paid in whatever shiny things they find on the ground to translate for the team back to humans.

[this is definitely still my coping mechanism game series and I’m kinda going through a lot right now]

[it is a liiitttle bit tempting to play a main series game using genesis and noe and maybe some of their teammates. there was a comic in progress from an artist I follow where they apparently played pokemon shield while setting up a story of a scorbunny, that was going to challenge leon with an entire party built by said bunny? that sort of concept.

I dunno, maybe it’d be fun! local eevee’s team makes a journey through several regions.]

[maaan do I miss psmd’s better functionalities for item search missions. it’s just way too easy in the first games to get into a zone and then go right by the floor you needed. not to mention how they don’t list an actual direct floor to find the item on? ‘near floor 17′ what does that even mean is it that floor or not?

and there’s no ‘you’ve reached your destination floor!’ for item search missions in blue. ughh it’s so frustrating.]

This expedition had started off so well. The first few floors had been easy, so much so that they’d even started looking for backup jobs to take within this place once the current one was finished.

But now? They had been pacing across the same floor for what felt like hours, Char using his tail as a torch while Leon hummed in thought and turned the map every direction just in case that would provide some burst of insight.

(It hadn’t.)

They were at such a loss that Leon found himself snapping to attention at the first sound of unfamiliar voices, his chirp of relief the only warning this duo would get before he was flying over to them.

                     ❝  Hey there! Don’t suppose you’d be willing to help us out with a little navigational guidance? We can’t tell where we’re supposed to be going.  ❞

Genesis had been on the defense at first, hearing an unfamiliar chirp in a dungeon meant either a client or an enemy; and according to Palin they weren’t on the floor where their client was at yet. However he lowered his defense as soon as he realized it was a Corvisquire with a map of Mt. Horn, and judging by the supplies carried by his teammates that followed him, he was probably part of a Rescue Team just the same as them. 

“Sure, we can try.” Genesis replied, gesturing at Palin with his tail as the Cyndaquil held the map. Having to be very careful to not accidentally burn it too.

“Are you looking for someone or something on this floor?” Palin asked as he unrolled his team’s map. “Or are the stairs in a really obscure spot? We haven’t checked all the far corners yet, but we can probably help with filling in some parts of your map!”
