everything is gray in everette, as if the sun had a personal vendetta with the land itself. ruby tried not to let it bother her most days, after all, the cold gave her an excuse to wear her combat boots and the ticks hated it. the town itself, for being so gray, was livelier than usual which filled her with the usual dread. events, parties, parades — people didn’t get a chance during those times. amidst the chaos of collectively planning and producing these types of things; people got lost, got taken, got dead. she sits on the bench, hot chocolate is warming her hands as she looks onto the beginnings of what is sure to be a holiday display of shit. ❛ if someone doesn’t fall off a float, is it really a parade? ❜ // @nogoodpxnk: sc.

The parade didn't fit in with the overall bleak atmosphere this town was radiating, which just gave the whole event a sickly sweet feeling. In a way, mindlessly watching the parade floats go by was mind numbing to a degree Malcolm wasn’t fully comfortable with. Normally numbness was appreciated by the young man, but at the moment it was... hypnotic. As if bright colors were around simply to distract from how creepy the rest of the town is. Or, this all could have been drugs talking. A brief glance is given to the girl before his gaze returns to the floats.

“Nope. It definitely isn’t if there aren’t beads being thrown from it either.”
