On the upside, Rise was not dead….yet. Regardless, that might change at any given moment, the treatment she was already receiving for her actions being vivid proof of that. Despite this, the teen would certainly not do as told, even now. If she was to die one way or another, then in the very least she had to do all she could to get her message across to Vanitas.
But how? His state only seemed to have worsened. Over his shoulder, Rise could spot those small bits of darkness materializing, turning into… some kind of lifeforms, perhaps. What were they? Maybe Kouzeon could tell, but summoning her Persona simply was not an option right now. No matter how aggressive these little beings appeared, they were the least of her worries.
“–N-no, I won’t let go. Not until you– listen to me!”, the idol made another attempt to communicate, accompanied by the repeated shaking of her head; a gesture that served both as disagreement with the violent idiot’s demands and to get him to leave her hair alone. This stinging pain on the back of her head certainly wasn’t helping to conjure some semblance of calmness, the repeated cracking of her voice attesting to that. Still, she had to keep trying.
“I know– I know I was out of line. I shouldn’t have – I'm sorry!” Rather than letting go, she held on just a little bit tighter. If her words failed here, this was the only other way Rise could think of that may get her intentions across to him. “Y-you know, I was alone too, for most of my life. And… in this world it’s just like that again, it’s… lonely. So, I understand. I understand. That’s why I shouldn’t have said such hurtful things to you - I should know better. I really am sorry! Please just… believe that at least.”
A growl is uttered out of his growing frustration, her persistence proving to be more than annoying trait she possessed as Rise remained latched on to him like some kind of leech, despite his resistances. Patience had long gone left his disposition, now it was his very options that were running thin from an already limited selection possible. Force was continued to be used, but for how long could it be kept up with such a fruitless outcome? This was extremely bothersome.
Her constant apologies and words were no longer being tuned out as white noise, rather it had also served to add wood to the wild fire that was his anger. It flared and broiled, his rougher actions and the change of behaviour among the present Unversed being proof of such; various forms twitching and scurrying about frantically, others targeting the legs of Rise. No, she couldn’t possibly understand-- no one ever did.
“You... damn-- !” The frenzied movement leads to a misstep, cutting off Vanitas' protest and tripping him backwards and towards the heated cobbled ground, dragging her down with him. The stones felt too warm on his back and his body was growing uncomfortable-- what would have been continued efforts in shoving her away and ending her life, resulted in a form of a short ‘cease fire’ as a series of “what ifs” crossed his mind; the consolence given never actually leaving. What if she did understand? His doubts were exceptionally high, but there seemed to be no shaking off the thought and the speck of hopefulness that invaded it. Just perhaps...
Eyes are cast to the side with a huff, his feverish emotion slowly beginning to simmer down, albeit remnants still expressed on his facial features; even the creatures were dissolving away as well and returned back to their owner in wisps. His body was tired, his mind muddled and she had won over safely much to his dismay. Next time, for sure he will kill her over stupid actions.
