there are things i shouldn’t have gotten used to, personally, collectively. i shouldn’t expect to be disregarded, for my increasingly urgent material struggles to be dismissed. abandonment shouldn’t feel so familiar and yet it was and continues to be so easy for others to leave me to rot in the hell they’ve created for all of us they condemn to social death. there’s always something more important, namely the compulsion to consume, even as the spectacle itself splinters and glitches and blood sprays from the cracks. comfort first, comfort last, whose compassion will you seek when the specter comes for you too?
