It had been almost six months now, thatSophie had seen the sunligt for the lasttime in her, short but fulfilled life. After denying and seeking excuses to notclean up everything from her room, it wasnow finally time for Silas to do so. Six months. Six long, with agony filledmonths. When he was about to put the booksfrom the shelf near by the bed into a crate, a small && nearly folded letter fell out from in between the books.The edges already a little yellow. Incapital and curvy letters was the word’ SILAS ‘ readable.  It took him a whileto open it, but when he finally moved histhumb in between the pages to push openthe paper - a cluster of text was made visible.Quite neatly written - Sophie’s handwriting.

Dear, Father.

Even if I am writing this letter - and I suppose you are reading it now - I wish you’d never have to read this letter.This is farewell. It pains me to write this and already it gets hard to put words on this paper. I wish it had never come this far, but here you are and there I am - already on the go. I probably took Abel with me and the most important parts of my belongings, which shouldn’t turn out to be much.Yes, this is my way of saying, that I will leave Nohr. I have no clue where it will take me - somewhere where I can stay, hopefully. But then again - I sincerely hope that my deed is not done until my dying day. I do not wish to leave this home behind, to leave my my mother and you. Especially you - the person I always looked up to, the person I tried to be so hard throughout all this time that I spent in Nohr with mother and you. I fairly well know, that I am a coward for just leaving you this letter and not speaking to either you or mother face-to-face about this. I tried. I thought about it but I couldn’t. I simply couldn’t bring myself to look you into the eyes and speak my farewell.

I am sorry,  Father.I failed you as a daughter, probably but I promise I will come back one day. One of these days, when I earned my right to step under your eyes again. I will come back, brave, strong and capable of doing your legacy honor. But for the time being - I need to walk this path alone. I need to find myself, focus myself and grow to something that I can be proud of myself.

The letter only told Silas that he would havelost his daughter anyways. Alive or dead.
