The Critter Academy

I have this weird hc with the Bens from both universes that goes like this:

They both are naturally sarcastic people who often don't really know if they're stepping too far until they cross that line. And they are often way too down on their siblings

As a result, even when they try to show affection or just that they approve of something, it can come off passive aggressive like:

Marcus: *comes in wearing a suit* so what do you think?

S!Ben: *wayy too sarcastically* Oh, it looks perfect, Stud!

Marcus: Fine, I'll go change it!

S!Ben: *hurries after him* WAIT, I ACTUALLY MEANT IT-

*meanwhile in the umbrella academy*

Five: *walks in* What do you think?

U!Ben: You look like that one guy from the twilight zone

Five: ...I'm changing-

U!Ben: Wait, that's a good thing-

And basically now everyone tries to pretend they don't care about either of the Bens' opinions, even though they absolutely take what he says to the extreme sometimes.

Klaus, at the Sparrows's house for some reason: I still think you look good, Bennerino!

Marcus: ALRIGHT, WHO KEEPS LETTING HIM IN?!

luther, crying and gripping the handle: please just take me home

klaus: country roads

ben: to the place

klaus & ben, in unison which luther cannot hear: i belong!

luther, crying harder: what the fuck?

Here’s more art from the hyperfixation vault. The Hargreeves siblings’ favorite seasons headcannons

Viktor and Ben’s favorite season being winter just felt right. Ben likes staying inside and reading. Viktor likes the cold weather and having everyone is inside with him. I think Klaus’s favorite season is spring cause it’s the perfect temperature for doing things and being Klaus. Luther loves any time of the year when he doesn't have to stay inside. Allison is a summer girl and Lila is with her so Allison isn’t alone. Plus Lila likes playing in the mud after summer rain. Diego likes pumpkin carving cause…y’know knives. Five is a pumpkin-spice-latte, autumn-sweater, spirit-halloween, stepping on leaves gremlin. Prove me wrong.

A little follow-up on this post

Like imagine after Ben's death, Klaus would sometimes (OFTEN) sleep on top of Ben's grave. Every time he does it Ben gets so mad at him and tells him he's being stupid and wasting his life

This go on for years, until one day Ben lies down on the ground right next to Klaus. Klaus always lies down on Ben's grave during the winter when Ben died. They're both silent when Klaus lies down on the grave and they're looking at each other

They're both hoping that Klaus dies of frost bite or hypothermia

Klaus is buried under the snow and Ben is just waiting for his ghost to come out.

Sadly though and they don't know it's because of Klaus' powers, Klaus suddenly jolts up awake and freezing. Ben only looks at him so disappointed before telling Klaus to get back inside before he catches death

They do this a couple of times, Klaus lying on Ben's grave, the two do them staring at each other as snow falls and every time they're both disappointed that Klaus is alive.

They do this until Klaus finally leaves the academy
