Date a girl who had a realization; an epiphany. She reflected upon existence, thinking about its nature and considering what aspects about it may lie beyond our perception, until she devised undefinable concepts that flowed into each other, becoming intertwined until it all came together into a single, unfathomable, yet undeniable truth about the nature of all of reality.
And in doing so, reality instantly broke.
She doesn’t regret causing the apocalypse. She wanders through the streets, seeing hundreds of people perpetually frozen in place with looks of horror, passing through buildings missing faces, some floating in the air. She wanders through areas where time flows non-linearly, catching a glimpse of the past, and seeing that it, too, has been torn apart at a fundamental level, arranged into pieces like a jigsaw puzzle that do not make (or ever made) a coherent whole.
For as sad as it may be, she knew it was inevitable, as it’d only take one soul out of the billions of trillions that spanned the cosmos to put the pieces together the same way she did to unmake everything, past, present, and future. All she did was reveal what was already broken. But, there’s one thing that keeps her going, one last question about the very existence of existence that has her still questioning. A question that she has no idea what consequences there may be if she answers it. Will reality’s pieces be fixed? Reassembled into a whole, more solid than before? Or will it undo the final strings and send everything into oblivion? The question, is you.
