Finally managed to watch the finale.
What the hell was that?
This season was so terrible I genuinely wish the show had just stayed unfinished.
It started with the most rushed and poorly handled death for A-Train. It felt like they just wanted him out and did it in the worst way possible.
Then they brought in Jared and Misha and gave them a whole episode that ended up being one of the weakest in the entire series. It felt like an edgy kid’s cartoon with way too much gore.
Annnnd Sister Sage’s arc… They gave her this half-baked, lazy redemption just because of whatever happened between her and Godolkin in the spin-off. She was planning to destroy the world until the very last second, then suddenly a few lines from Frenchie and she completely changed her mind?. And what the hell kind of stupid ending was that? She decided to piss off Kimiko on purpose, making her lose her powers, and then she was actually happy about it? But the whole time before that, she had never once complained about being super intelligent. It came out of nowhere and made zero sense.
Frenchie’s death was really weak too. Three people in the same room, Homelander hears Frenchie snap his fingers from across the hall but somehow misses Sage and Kimiko breathing right next to him?
Then after killing Frenchie he just leaves? Weren’t you there for Sage in the first place?
It felt like Homelander only showed up just to kill Frenchie so they could set up that “power of love” bullshit with Kimiko destroying him in the finale. Like the whole thing was just cheap setup for her big moment.
They spent two full seasons building up all these Gen V characters, hyping them to main show levels, and in the end they barely did anything meaningful. Marie is supposedly as strong as Homelander, yet all she got was a couple of lines with Starlight.
Why the hell did they remove Soldier Boy so pointlessly? Was it because of his new spin-off, or just because his presence would’ve completely broken the power balance in the finale? Feels super cheap either way.
They hyped Homelander up to god-tier with V1 — in the same episode he went to space and back in like two seconds — but then in the final fight he kept getting overpowered by Butcher’s speed? In season 3 without V1, Hughie, Butcher and Soldier Boy couldn’t even hold him properly.
Kimiko gets Soldier Boy’s explosion powers in one day while it took him years of torture?
In the first episode of the season Homelander sliced through Kimiko like butter with his lasers, but in the finale he hits her multiple times and she’s fine?
And Homelander, who can hear heartbeats from across the room, somehow doesn’t notice all the chaos happening inside the White House?
I really hated this ending.
I hate that Homelander — who started as a victim and became a psychotic product of Vought — got punished and humiliated in the end, while the real masterminds behind all the disasters walked away completely free and are still running everything.
I hate that Stan Edgar destroyed so many lives and just casually went back to business like nothing ever happened.
I hate that the world will never truly know what Vought did to John and Nadia.
I had such high expectations for this finale… and this is what we got.
A lot of fan theories were honestly better than the actual story.
If Marie had shown up and weakened Homelander somehow, letting Butcher finish him, it would’ve felt way more satisfying and logical.
So much character potential completely wasted.
The show ended up like Stranger Things and Game of Thrones — maybe even worse.
What a disappointing way to end it.
