“Maybe later, if I have a spare minute after our search.” Ban then aloowed Tetsu to drag him to a nearby jelwery store to go ring shopping. “Yes of course. Let’s go Imotou-chan.” Ban felt kind of strange calling Tetsu that but when undercover its best to play along.

Tetsu smiled and took him into the shop and straight up to the counter. “Hi! I was in here earlier and picked out some rings for my brother to look at!” She tugged on Ban’s arm and pointed to him with one beautifully manicured nail. “This is him! Can you bring out the rings?”

“Alright sounds good.” Ban pulls out his own phone and marks the date on the calender. “Meet you in two days at Kurijiku Jewelers.” Ban got up from his seat and went to go back to his apartment. “Also congrats on the promotion Kouhai!”

Tetsu smiled. “Thanks, Senpai. I’ll see you then… Oh, and be sure to make yourself less recognizable.”

Two days later

Tetsu glanced at his watch, tapping one heeled foot impatiently against the group as he adjusted his purse on his shoulder. Ban wasn’t late yet, but it helped the appearance of thing if it seemed like he was keeping Tetsuko waiting.

Ban was running to make sure he was meeting up with Tetsu on time. It took him a bit cause it took a bit to get the suits on, tie tied right and his hair to look normal instead of what it was. Once at the meeting place Ban put his hands on hisknees and looked around to see Tetsuko. Ban sweat dropped at Tetsu but went over to him. “If I am late I am sorry. I was trying to make sure my outfit was nice.”

Tetsu looked him up and down and then smiled. “Mou, darling, your tie is crooked!” He stepped close to fix Ban’s tie and spoke in a quiet voice, “I’ve checked out a few of the stores around here and I think they’re in your price range.” He hummed faintly. “But really, you clean up nice. I had an idea from the wedding pictures Miwa-chan showed me, but with this hair you look even better.”

Ban had an even bigger sweatdrop on his head. “Well I was in a rush.” Ban rolled his eyes at Tetsu’s behavior and wispered back. “Thanks Kouhai.”Then said loudly. “Well I have to look my best for different occasions, plus my hair is shorter than during the wedding.”

Tetsu smiled. “Plus, It’s not in that ridiculous style. This one suits you much more.” He then pouted, considering. “But I do wish you’d let me cut it again. I think I could make it even better.” He hooked his arm in Ban’s and began tugging him towards a store. “Now, come on, Nii-chan. That ring’s not going to pick itself out!”

“I have been good, I have also been busy.” Ban took the seat across from Tetsu grateful. “So you are probably wondering why I had asked you out here without the other knowing right.”

Tetsu smiled at the waitress who brought him his drink, and then looked over at Ban. “Do you want anything, Senpai?” Once she was gone, he replied. “Well it obviously has something to do with you and Tomasu-senpai. At first I thought it might be that you wanted my help setting up another date, but if that were so, I could have told him. So you wish to surprise him with something. His birthday and your anniversary aren’t coming up soon, so that doesn’t leave many options.” He took a sip from his drink. “But I’ll let you tell me yourself.”

“Yeah I will have a water please.” Ban sagged in his chair with a sigh. “Nothing gets passed you does it Kouhai.’ Ban waited for the waitress to leave before eplaining. “Yes I want to surprise Aibou. As for what it is is why i need your help. I want to find and engagement ring to propose with, and since you love fashion and accessories I thought I would get your opinion on it.”

Tetsu nodded. “As I thought” He glanced at his watch. “I’m afraid I don’t have much time today. I was recently promoted and I was barely able to get enough time off for this. However, I do have off in two days, as, I believe, do you, Senpai.”

“Yes I do have a few days off before having to report back to Fire Squad duties, plus I made sure to ask Aibou’s sister, and Gyoku before even thinking of going ring shopping.”

Tetsu raised an eyebrow. “Oh, and what did Gyoku-san and Miwa-chan have to say when you told them?”

“They both apporoved.” Ban turned to look at something across the street slightly paling. “Well Gyoku said that I would have 2 options if I broke Aibou’s heart. 1 being I have no vacation time and working nonstop or 2 being fired from Fire Suad and SPD itself… Miwa-chan on the other hand… well lets just say she threatened cutting something off with a rusty spoon.”

Tetsu laughed. “That does sound like Miwa-chan, doesn’t it?” He pulled out his phone and pulled up his calendar. “So, two days from now, meet me around three in front of Kurijiku Jewelers, in the jewelry district.”

Ban had just got out of a meeting with Gyoku about having a week off from Fire Squad duties to go visit Earth branch. Gyoku approved and Ban was getting his stuff together to leave but pulled out his license to text Tetsu. 

[Text] Kouhai coming to Earth branch for a bit and need your help with something. If the team asks say you don’t know.

Ban put his license back in his pocket and headed to his mecha to drive to Earth for his important mission.

Tetsu raised an eyebrow at the text, but sent back a quick response.

[Text] Why don’t you meet me by that bakery near the base? That way we can talk without being interrupted.

He quickly put in for time off coinciding with Ban’s visit, and went to go change out of his uniform into more casual clothes. If Ban didn’t want him to tell the team, he knew this was more private business.

Ban read the text Testu sent and smiled.

[Text] Alright meet you there.

After once again putting his license away Ban was on his way back to Earth after a few hours of high speed travel across the Galaxy Ban finally within sight of Earth. Ban called out to the Earth branch to let him into the shields before parking him mecha and going to find Tetsu. Ban made sure to change before leaving so the team didn’t know he was there. 

After walking a few minutes and looking around he spotted the cafe and Tetsu and ran over. “Hey Kouhai! How have you been lately?”

Ban then called one of the few people that might help figure this problem out. “Kouhai!!! I might need help.”

Tetsu raised an eyebrow at Ban’s voice through the call, but still focused on the problem. “Senpai? What’s wrong? Is it an Alienizer?” He was already standing up from his desk as he spoke.

“No,I don’t think so..” Ban tries to suppress a groan as he gets to hot for his jacket but tries to remain cool headed while talking. “All I really know is that I was hit with some colored beam and now feel strange.

“… Senpai, that doesn’t exactly sound like it wasn’t Alienizers…” Still, he strode towards the door. “I’m coming over. Where are you? And should I call Hoji-san?”

“I am in my room. AND DONT BRING AIBOU!!!” Ban did not want Hoji to see him in this condition. “When you get here stay outside the door.”

Weird things are a common occurrence at AGHS. But this is beyond the pale for that sort of thing. Gentaro has found himself confiscating devices from the students which his friends at UNIT classify as Level 7 technology. This will require making a call on behalf of his students. He takes out the card and asks the receptionist at SPD to connect him to Tetsu. "Tetsu, Gentaro here. I think there's Alienizer activity at AGHS."

Tetsu was surprised to get a call, seeing as he wasn’t the acting chief anymore, but he took it anyway. He frowned slightly at the call itself. “Really? What’s happened?”
