Engagement

Ban and Hoji were both laying on the ground slightly panting after their little tussle and weren’t able to get up. Their teammates were all around them looking down at them with smiles.

“Need any help up, Ban, Hoji?” Sen asked the two

“Nah! We’re alright! Just head on out without us. We can catch up later.” Ban told picking his head up a bit.

“Alright. We will meet you both at the entrance to Neo-Deka Base in a bit.” Tetsu said herding his friends and teammates to the stairs leaving Ban and Hoji alone.

Ban smiled up at Tetsu as he gave a slight wink before joining the others going downstairs. Ban let his head fall back onto the roof of the building still tired.

Hoji turned to Ban with a raised eyebrow. “So why did you want them to leave?”

“Well the first part is because I am way too tired to try and stand at the moment. Ban said moving his hand to the pocket of his pants.

“Guess we are in the same boat on that one.” Hoji said turning his head back towards the sunset.

“The other reason is to ask you something way overdue.” Ban stated putting something in Hoji’s out stretched hand.

“What?” Hoji was confused before he turned his head to see a little black box in his hand and his eyes widened. “Ban?”

“Well are you going to open it?” Ban had a slightly nervous smile on his face.

Hoji moved to sit up a bit even though his body didn’t want to move and went to open the little box in his hand. As Hoji opened it he saw a simple silver ring with two red and one blue stone places nicely in the ring where diamonds would be placed. On the inside was also a little note with the words ‘Marry me?’ in Ban’s messy scrawl.

Hoji was shocked to see the ring and held the box out to Ban. Ban thinking this was a rejection for Hoji had turned his head up to the sky.

Hoji saw the upset look Ban was trying to hide. “Idiot. Are you going to put it on my finger or do I have to do it?”

“Is that a yes?” Ban asked in surprise

“Yes it is a yes.”

Ban’s shocked face before it morphed into an excited grin. Ban finding some extra energy pushed himself up and went to sit next to Hoji. Ban took the ring out of the box and placed the ring on Hoji’s left ring finger.

“I am so glad you said yes, aibou.” Ban’s smile never fading

“One don’t call me aibou, two Why wouldn’t I say yes?” Hoji raised his eyebrow. “I am guessing Tetsu and Miwa were in on this?”

“Yep, but I do not want your sister near me with a rusty spoon.” Ban shivered remembering that lovely conversation with Miwa.

“Well then don’t get her mad at you then.” Hoji said with a smirk.

“I won’t… But I will make sure you are always happy, Hoji.” Ban said leaning his forehead against Hoji’s

“You better, Ban.” Hoji leaned up so that his and Ban’s lips met in a sweet kiss

Ban smiled and returned the kiss with enthusiasm. After a few moments the two pulled back to breathe

“We better get going. The others will start to wonder where we are.” Hoji said getting up from the ground.

“They can wait a few more minutes, plus Kouhai can keep them entertained before we get barbeque.” Ban said grabbing Hoji’s hand and pulling the man into his lap.

Hoji rolled his eyes. “You just want another kiss don’t you.”

“Of course!” Ban leaned down to captures Hoji into another kiss.

Hoji shook his head before Ban could kiss him and returned the kiss. Hoji knew Ban would bug him until he got another kiss. The two once again pulled away from each other with small smiles.

“Oh right. Do you still want to keep our relationship secret? Or do you want to tell them about our engagement?” Ban asked

“Keep it secret. Boss and Swan-san just confessed their love. Let’s not spoil their moment.” Hoji got out of Ban’s lap and held a hand out. “Now let’s go before Tetsu goes insane.”

“Okay!” Ban took the offered hand and got up off the ground. “Let’s go. Although I am sure kouhai can keep them entertained or at least busy.”

“Well if it was you down there then you would be bored before Tetsu could try to keep you entertained.” Hoji said with a raised eyebrow

“Oh fine. Let’s go.” Ban pouted

The two kept their hands intertwined while walking down the stairs but as they were getting closer to their friends and team the two let their hands drop and Ban ran over to the group. Tetsu being the ever observant one noticed the new ring on Hoji’s finger and turned to look at Ban. Out of the corner of his eye Ban saw Tetsu looking at him and gave him a smile. Tetsu knew that Hoji said yes to marrying Ban, Tetsu hoped the two of them happiness when they were actually married.

“Maybe later, if I have a spare minute after our search.” Ban then aloowed Tetsu to drag him to a nearby jelwery store to go ring shopping. “Yes of course. Let’s go Imotou-chan.” Ban felt kind of strange calling Tetsu that but when undercover its best to play along.

Tetsu smiled and took him into the shop and straight up to the counter. “Hi! I was in here earlier and picked out some rings for my brother to look at!” She tugged on Ban’s arm and pointed to him with one beautifully manicured nail. “This is him! Can you bring out the rings?”

“Right away madame.” The store owner said going to get the rings for the customer. 

Ban looked to Tetsu. “Just as I exxpected of my imotou.”

The clerk brought the rings out of the holding case and showed Ban and Tetsu the rings Tetsu picked out earlier. “What do you think sir?”

“Alright sounds good.” Ban pulls out his own phone and marks the date on the calender. “Meet you in two days at Kurijiku Jewelers.” Ban got up from his seat and went to go back to his apartment. “Also congrats on the promotion Kouhai!”

Tetsu smiled. “Thanks, Senpai. I’ll see you then… Oh, and be sure to make yourself less recognizable.”

Two days later

Tetsu glanced at his watch, tapping one heeled foot impatiently against the group as he adjusted his purse on his shoulder. Ban wasn’t late yet, but it helped the appearance of thing if it seemed like he was keeping Tetsuko waiting.

Ban was running to make sure he was meeting up with Tetsu on time. It took him a bit cause it took a bit to get the suits on, tie tied right and his hair to look normal instead of what it was. Once at the meeting place Ban put his hands on hisknees and looked around to see Tetsuko. Ban sweat dropped at Tetsu but went over to him. “If I am late I am sorry. I was trying to make sure my outfit was nice.”

Tetsu looked him up and down and then smiled. “Mou, darling, your tie is crooked!” He stepped close to fix Ban’s tie and spoke in a quiet voice, “I’ve checked out a few of the stores around here and I think they’re in your price range.” He hummed faintly. “But really, you clean up nice. I had an idea from the wedding pictures Miwa-chan showed me, but with this hair you look even better.”

Ban had an even bigger sweatdrop on his head. “Well I was in a rush.” Ban rolled his eyes at Tetsu’s behavior and wispered back. “Thanks Kouhai.”Then said loudly. “Well I have to look my best for different occasions, plus my hair is shorter than during the wedding.”

Tetsu smiled. “Plus, It’s not in that ridiculous style. This one suits you much more.” He then pouted, considering. “But I do wish you’d let me cut it again. I think I could make it even better.” He hooked his arm in Ban’s and began tugging him towards a store. “Now, come on, Nii-chan. That ring’s not going to pick itself out!”

Tetsu smiled at the waitress who brought him his drink, and then looked over at Ban. “Do you want anything, Senpai?” Once she was gone, he replied. “Well it obviously has something to do with you and Tomasu-senpai. At first I thought it might be that you wanted my help setting up another date, but if that were so, I could have told him. So you wish to surprise him with something. His birthday and your anniversary aren’t coming up soon, so that doesn’t leave many options.” He took a sip from his drink. “But I’ll let you tell me yourself.”

As for what it is is why i need your help. I want to find and engagement ring to propose with, and since you love fashion and accessories I thought I would get your opinion on it.”

[Text] Kouhai coming to Earth branch for a bit and need your help with something. If the team asks say you don’t know.

Ban put his license back in his pocket and headed to his mecha to drive to Earth for his important mission.

He quickly put in for time off coinciding with Ban’s visit, and went to go change out of his uniform into more casual clothes. If Ban didn’t want him to tell the team, he knew this was more private business.

After walking a few minutes and looking around he spotted the cafe and Tetsu and ran over. “Hey Kouhai! How have you been lately?”
