WINCHESTER - A street hockey rink may soon be coming to James Wood Middle School, thanks to a partnership with the Washington Capitals professional ice hockey team. The Capitals have secured $165,000 from the National Hockey League's Industry Growth Fund, and the team wants to use the money to build an inline skating rink behind the Amherst Street school. The rink would cost $222,500, with 75 percent of the funding coming from the Capitals. The Capitals would provide the rink, and the team would have a logo on the rink. Once completed, the school district would own the rink and could use it for physical education classes.
