Although, it’s not as much a video game but as a tabletop role playing game, Dungeons and Dragons has always been a fun and amusing way to unwind on my weekends. I’ve always been a fantasy nerd, playing game titles such as: Diablo, World of Warcraft, Legend of Zelda, Skyrim, and so on and so forth that it was only a matter of time that I would be introduced to the classic roleplaying game made in 70′s. This game has survived the test of time, going through some crazy things including the wicked bad image given to the game claiming the game was promoting things such as Satanism, witchcraft, suicide, pornography, and even murder. Today it is a both a beloved game with a player base on the rise still to this day and even a pop cultural icon. To me, it gives me a chance to unwind and create stories with a group of my friends after a long week of work, school, stress, etc.

Hey Everyone! Take a look at my presentation on my personal journey through gaming. It’s a lot about me and my personal experiences with gaming and kind of a little more about me as a person and what gaming has done to influence that.

If there was ever a competition for the game that would most likely destroy your relationships, I strongly believe Mario Party would be a very strong candidate right next to Mario Kart (We’ve all been blue shelled far to many times). This game may seem cute and fun to begin, but soon many realize that Mario Party is bloodthirsty for those in your group who crave competition. And when there’s plenty of mini-games, events, and even ways to disrupt your friends to gain advantages it’s almost guaranteed you’re gearing for a long and intense battle against friends. Now obviously this is all for fun and games but it’s always the fun of competition between friends that can be the most chaotic, but most satisfying games to bring to couch gaming. A beloved and also hated classic to enjoy with your frenemies.

Dead By Daylight is a Survival 4v1 Horror game, where one player plays as the killer and the rest as terrified survivors completing objectives and trying to escape the killing ground. The past two weeks I tried and fell in love with this horrifying game. The game it’s self is kind of confusing and for me it was a little overwhelming at first as a beginner but as you play and learn more about the games mechanics it becomes one of the most satisfying games I’ve played in a while. But that is also something I really love about this game. The fact that there’s so much to factor in to your gameplay and that will ultimate decide on how you play the game. Some may be more objective focused and can build their character with unlockable perks that benefit that style of play while others could run a more team supportive role, providing buffs and perks to those to help boost them in their area of focus. No matter how you play, the game is always going to be a different experience than the last.

Toontown Online, an Online Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) was the first game I ever got to experience online with other players all across the globe. Back when I was 9 years old, my best friend (and still a best friend to this day) introduced me to Toontown. A game where you create your own cartoon avatar, team up with other toons and try to stop the evil corporations from taking away our goofy toontastic way of life. This game was truly amazing for me as it opened the door to all kinds of different games and experiences. Before Toontown, the only kind of multiplayer gaming I had ever experienced was Co-Op couch games with cousins and my best friend. But now I was able to play with others and have new adventures, memories, and friendships through the power of gaming. I would honestly consider Toontown Online my gaming awaking as that sparked my journey into the online gaming world.

One of many fond memories I have from playing World of Warcraft comes from the days I spent being a part of a group called the Warsong Battalion, a World PVP (Player vs Player) guild in Warlords of Draenor. Where in World of Warcraft you are playing two different factions that oppose one another so our guild’s mission was to defeat our enemies at all cost. We had made ourselves known across several different servers and when we attacked, people knew who we were. The screenshot was one of our many successful nights fighting and then we decided to parade ourselves in the enemies town to celebrate our glorious victory. What I enjoyed the most out of this experience was the unity and respect we all had amongst ourselves. Our groups often were so big that we had to make several guilds to fill our ranks. We had made our own content in a game where there is so much to do and offer for content. The strategy and planning that went behind these events helped deliver such a enjoyable fun gameplay experience that made my gaming experiences something that I will cherish throughout my life.

A World Without Fear

One game that I will always hold dearly to my heart is Dino Crisis. When I was about 7 years old, I was played for the first time the survival horror game Dino Crisis. A game about a mad scientist who unleashed a deadly onslaught of dinosaurs on a small remote island in the modern day. What makes this game such a fond memory for me is the amount of hours, frustration, and the ultimate satisfaction I had felt when I finally finished the game. I honestly believe it took me until I was 12 years old to finish the game. But my determination or honestly maybe a bit of stubbornness lead me to the ending credits and that alone means so much to me. Looking back at all the memories, how many “You are dead” screens I have yelled at, the amount of times I’ve had to take a break some spanning months of different games just to come back to the same game shows the amount of dedication and passion not to mention determination that means everything to me. All of these qualities are qualities that I would like to eventually instill into my future children and what better way to do so but to find a special game for them and have them play.

Hello and welcome to my very own gaming blog! I’m NoodlePK and I have been gaming since the age of four when my grandfather gave me my first PC and I started playing Diablo 2. After that, my passion could not be stopped. I dove into all sorts of gaming: Nintendo, Playstation, tabletop, etc. Gaming gave me a sense of being and belonging. Gaming has always been there for me, whether I was down and out and having a bad day, excited for a new game, or just wanted to be cozy.
