Whitechapel. Home to the weird and the freaky. This town has seen more action than a football game.
It is also home to Ethan, Benny, Rory, Sarah and Erica. These friends have been through a lot together and have always been able to save the town from the supernatural.
They have faced werewolves, or werepuppies, mummies, ghosts, zombies, dolls, evil trees, fears, and of course vampires. They're last fight was with a siren.
After fighting the siren named Serena, the gang didn't know what to expect until the day a new girl came to town.
This girl was always alone and rarely paid attention to anyone around her. She gave off a vibe that told everyone to stay clear.
The gang, and by gang I mean Ethan, decided to keep an eye on her.
Weeks went by and so far there was nothing strange about her, well, at least that Ethan could tell.
One day, Rory decided to approach her while they others watched her closely. Nothing happened and a few weeks later, Rikki had become friends with Rory and his friends.
It was Friday when Rikki was invited to a pool party, but she couldn't go because she had other plans.
No one thought about it at the time, but if they had put two and two together they would have realized something was up with her. Every time the word pool, beach or anything dealing with water came up, Rikki always had something else she needed to do or was just not in the mood.
After ditching them for a third time, Rory approached the group with the issue.
~At school during lunch, on Friday afternoon~
Rory: *approaches the table with the rest of his friends and placed his hands on the table* Guys, something is up with Rikki.
The others turned to look at him a bit shocked by his sudden burst of excitement.
Sarah: Why would you think that?
Ethan: Ya, Rory, let it go.
Rory: Oh come on, don't you guys find it odd that she never goes near water?
Erica: *groans and rolls her eyes* What's the big deal, Rory? So she doesn't go near water. Big deal.
Benny: I don't know guys. I, uh, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I uh, kind of agree with Rory. Something is up with her. She's hiding something.
Sarah: Is this another one of your dumb conspiracies?
Ethan: I'm sure nothing is wrong. Although...
Everyone turned to him as soon as he said that. Ethan gave them a nod as he remembered what happened the other day.
*Flashback with voiceover*
Ethan: Well, yesterday, I'm walking through the hall...
*Ethan walks down the hall and stops*
Ethan: I was just going around the corner when I bumped into Rikki and I accidentally splashed her with my water bottle...
*Ethan comes around the corner just as Rikki does and they collide causing his water to splash her*
Ethan: Well, without saying a word, she just looked at me and then ran like there was a monster chasing her.
*Ethan stands there as he watches Rikki run*
Ethan: There is something strange going on with her.
Like always, Sarah and Erica leave to let the boys handle the weird stuff. They decided to come up with a plan.
Since no one was gonna be home at Ethan's house, they decided to invite Rikki over.
But of course, Rikki was cautious until Benny decided to use a little magical assistance.
Rikki came over and was invited inside.
Rikki: Hey, thanks for having me over, but why am I here?
The boys looked at each other not sure on how to answer that. Ethan was the first one to open his mouth and come up with something reasonable, something she would believe.
Ethan: We, uh, needed your help with...
While Rikki was paying attention to Ethan, trying to understand what he was saying, Benny and Rory came up behind her and got into a position.
Benny gave Rory the signal and Rory shouted and ducked just as Benny tossed the glass of water at him.
Rikki turned around as the water made contact with her skin. Her hands came up to her face as groaned.
Rikki: What the heck did you do that for?
Ten seconds later, the guys watched as a tail appeared and Rikki flopped over sitting on the kitchen floor with a not so happy look on her face.
The three of them stared at her with their jaws dropped.
Rory was the first one to respond as he screamed...
Rory: Ahhh, Rikki has a tail!
Ethan looked down at the tail and then back up.
Ethan: Wow, you are a mermaid. I was right.
After hearing his best friend say that, Benny looked from Rikki to Ethan.
Benny: Dude, did you know about this?
Ethan was still looking at Rikki and didn't hear Benny speak.
Ethan: This explains everything. Why you don't go near water, the drinking out of a straw.
Rikki looked up to see them all staring at her. Rolling her eyes, she made a fist and started drying off while the guys stood there watching her.
Rikki: *looked up at them staring at her before she turned to Ethan. If you had your suspicions, you know you could of tried to catch me.
As soon as she was dry, her legs came back and the guys helped her up. They still hadn't said a word until Ethan spoke up.
Ethan: We're sorry. We shouldn't have tricked you and revealed your secret.
Rory: But hey, we know it now and don't worry about it we won't tell.
Benny: Yeah, mermaid babe. We are totally keeping this under the sea.
As soon as Benny said this, everyone turned to him with a look that said they weren't amused.
Rikki: Did you just pull a Little Mermaid joke?
Benny: Oh come on, it was funny, right?
Ethan, who was the more logical one turned to Rikki and put a hand on her shoulder.
Ethan: You're secret is safe with us.
Rikki: Thanks, I guess. You guys have your own secrets.
Benny chuckled nervously as he rubbed the back of his head.
Rikki folded her arms as she told Benny how she knew about them.
Rikki: Well, I know that you have magical powers, so does your grandma, I know that Erica, Sarah and Rory are vampires, and Ethan is a seer.
Benny: Wow... so you have powers to?
Rikki watched as they all stared at her. They looked at her with curiosity and it made her feel like she was on display.
Later on, the guys and Rikki met up with Sarah and Erica. They all swapped their own stories and became friends and promised to watch out for each other.
