Maybe I thought I deserved it, and so I became insecure and desperate. Your opinion meant more than my own. That’s not how it should be. I have to find out what my own opinion is, and I have to do it on my own.

Sana Bakkoush in Ikke snakk til meg
“noora needs to be redeemed”, “whatever happens to be kind always” like.. literally all she did was say to her friend “why didn’t you tell me” with her voice a lil higher and then she kissed a dude she had NO IDEA sana liked…. what we should be commenting on is how unrealistic this entire drama is when noora has literally done nothing wrong…. julie built the entire thing so that she’d be blameless while sana is the Big Brown Meanie… thats bad. julies ridiculous racist and constant need to uplift her self insert over sana is the enemy here, not noora as a character that just… doesn’t make sense yall are weird

This is Taliesin Myrddin. He was 23 years old. He passed away last night in Portland Oregon along with another hero while defending two muslim girls from hateful abuse from a white supremecist on the MAX train. The media has a lot of information to give you about the asshole that took their lives, but I want to share Taliesin and eventually the other hero too. They are the ones who deserve to be known, they are the ones who literally died to do what was right. They are the true spirit of Portland Oregon, not the evil man who did this to them.

This is Rick Best. He was 53 and a veteran of the army. He had three teenage sons and a 12 year old daughter. He also gave his life to defending two muslim girls on the MAX train last night. He also deserves to be known. Thank you Talisein and Rick. You are symbols of the good in this world and true heroes to your city. I am so sorry for what happened to you and send all my love to your grieving families and loved ones

I keep thinking about how… sana is…. like she’s so young. she’s really, really young. and it shows through her relationship with jamilla. jamilla, “her angel”. jamilla who protected her after she got bullied. we’ve seen sana admit one time to being afraid and that was to jamilla. “I hope there won’t be any racists.” like that’s so huge ? sana is always hiding. she has to. she hides behind heavy make-up, behind the black clothes, behind this tough exterior that’s really just a front. but she didn’t hide from jamilla. she hoped that she would be protected, that jamilla could make it all better.
the rare glimpses of a sana with her guard down that we’ve seen reveal a teenage girl, a very young girl that’s so desperate to fit in, so scared to be singled out again. so scared that people will sense how soft and loving and sensitive she is inside. she’s so mature and together on the outside but on the inside, she’s driven by love and a need to care for others as well as by fear. love for her family, for her mom and dad, for elias and to a certain degree, a need to take care of the girls, to help them. that warm energy is opposed to fear, fear that expresses itself through impulsiveness but through silence as well. it was fear that stopped her from sending that message, fear and who she is, which is just the kindest, peaceful girl, miles away from the cold hearted muslimah she pretends to be.
she wonders at a world that makes so much sense, at its mysteries but herself is layered. she has this hidden treasure of kindness she keeps close to herself like a treasure because she knows it will be demeaned and taken advantage of. that wonder is at the root of her love of Allah as it at the root of her desire to be a full part of norwegian culture. she wants in. she’s protecting herself but there’s some bravery in how she’s been facing her fears in the name of that wonder.
which is the main divide with jamilla and her mother, who both think she should remain in her community. and now, this, with the bus. sana’s worst fears happening all over again. and shes alone to face them.
sana gives away her love and care freely. she doesn’t talk about her fears as easily. she used to with jamilla, though. her former protector. and as her world is falling on itself, jamilla is still the person she wants to reach out to.
“She is liquid star-shine; The cosmos melts at the sight of her.“
i love ignoring things….. people…. problems …. responsibilities……feelings…..
We have to talk about this.
why is my life …… like that
