Did some exploring around and came across this fun sign at a city park here in Maricopa, Arizona. "Playful City USA" - kaboom.org This really brought back a lot of fun memories of Longview, Washington. The City of Longview had also worked with kaboom.org - but, ent above and beyond when one of the cities clever staffers became "Captain Kaboom" to help draw community awareness and to help our community become a "Playful City USA" too. #walkdownmemorylane #playcityusa

Florence, Arizona We came across this gem (Administration Building), and had to stop to take a closer look. (We love architecture.) Fun Facts: Florence was established in 1866 by Colonel Levi Ruggles, who moved to Arizona after the Civil War as an Indian Agent. He later served as a Territorial Legislator and helped establish Pinal as the state’s fifth county. Agriculture was the major economic base until Florence became the government seat of Pinal Couty Courthousethe newly formed Pinal County and silver was discovered at the Silver King Mine in 1875. Over the ensuing years, Florence played an important role as a regional administrative center.
