Often times Morty found his job to be a bit of a burden; there wasnât anything he got out of it other than the ability to scratch one more task off the list. Usually he was able to keep work and personal lives separate butâŚ
Well every man has his day come. Eyes cast downward as his friend scolded him, the death bringerâs lips pressed into a fine line. Usually in such a case Morty would keep his face hidden and identity unknown but...Grim was his friend. His best friend and some nights his quick lover. It felt wrong to have such a cold goodbye.
âWould you have truly believed me? Sure, Iâm a strange man with odd powers and a name that means death, but would you have believed me if I confessed?â There was no way to know how things would work outâhow Grim would handle it. He was a death fearing man and now is aware of just who Morty was.
The irony wasnât lost on him in the slightest.
âI donât like this you know. Youâve been one of the better friendsâmaybe the bestâIâve had in all my time. I felt nothing but displeasure in hiding this from you, but you must understand why I did it Grimsley. Either you would attempt to send me to an institution or you would have simply hated me even sooner.â Perhaps it was selfish butâŚ
Could he really be blamed for wanting to experience having a friend?
