Does anyone know of cheap/free animation software for hand-drawn 2d animation? Preferably with onion skin/light table function. For those who are animating: Whatâs your program of choice?
Iâm just curious whatâs out there :)
After an eternity I actually have the time to look into other animation programs, so I thought I share my finding in case anyone wants to start animating without having to pay a lot of money for professional animation software:
Today I got Krita, itâs completely free and an open source program mainly meant for drawing and painting but it also comes with a pretty solid animation feature.Â
Hereâs a very rough and sketchy animation I did in the program: (and under the cut you can find some of my thoughts on Krita)
Nobody asked for this, but hereâs a chocobo in Chuck Jonesâ âWile E. Coyote and the Road Runnerâ style. I guess Deadeye should be the Coyote then. Great, now I wanna animate it.
