HELLO ALL!!!!

So ... as most of you who follow me know, I am relatively new to indie despite years in many roleplaying games. I have now been playing in indie world for approximately 6 months! Can you believe it? I can’t.

As I have gotten into operating an indie blog and writing in these disparate worlds, one of the things I seem to struggle with is organization. However, I have noticed that my plots and threads tend to fall into certain categories. Therefore, with a bit of time on my hands, I have decided to create a new blog with some well-organized side-blogs so that I can control the havoc, hopefully no longer lose threads quite so easily and simplify my tagging system.

I will be keeping northernxmuses for archive and any side-worlds I create. However, otherwise, I will be transitioning my threads over to one of the following rp blogs:

Do you have any HC about history? Like, how did people treat the dynamics at different points in history?

I don’t have exact dates, because I’m really too lazy to research our history and convert it to abo dynamics, BUT I will definitely do this with dates when I have the time! Only five headcanons each, but you’ll definitely see more when I do my research!!

Alphas

Alphas were the kings and queens of worlds back in the day, as they were the stronger and “more superior” dynamic

They were expected to never show weakness, like crying or crooning to an omega

Normally always had at least one omega at their sides at all times, maybe a beta depending on the place

occasionally they’ll have four or more omega that they use to have litters and pups, but this was a very rare occurrence and only happened with the very rich alphas

Only a few alphas believed that omegas were capable of taking care of themselves, sadly

Betas

Literally, the only “sensible” ones when it came to the spring season, also known as the baby season as people say it

They are the royal advisors, doctors, etc.

Anything where they need to be in control of themselves despite the scents

They were also sometimes the occasional king or queen, with a small harem or something

Female betas were usually in arranged marriages and weren’t given the right to choose a husband or have a choice in the matter

Omega

They were considered housewives, slaves, or sex slaves

Most had barely any rights, as well

Some were content in living like slaves and housewives, while others rebelled and resisted the treatment

They were either beaten, executed, or sent to a slave house of sorts to work for a punishment

Most omega stayed quiet about the treatment and chose to live with it instead of complaining and being hurt for doing so

abused omega headcanons

the abused omega would probably be afraid of most alphas and be very skittish of the ones they did know

maybe the omega is strong and hid the abuse for a long time until someone noticed they had bruises, were skinnier, etc. 

they do not take anger or yelling well, and will most likely run to their nest or a safe place and cry

or call up one of their omega friends to calm them down

they’d probably only trust alphas if they were family (brother, sister, mom, dad, etc.) unless they were the abusers

the omega would probably have therapy sessions, and the therapist would probably be either beta or omega

it would take a little, but soon the omega would trust them and spill everything going on to the therapist

when the omega goes out in public and is around alphas, they’d probably release a scent that smells like distress, and that would get to the alphas

they’d crowd around the omega asking what’s wrong and that only makes the smell thicker and stronger

their beta friend has to move them away from that situation because the omega might have a panic attack if near that many alphas at once

the omega during heat has one of their beta friends on speed dial just in case

an alpha starts courting the omega not knowing about their past, and the beta or omega friend has to tell them

the alpha proceeds in courting them and the omega’s so nervous about it that they can’t sleep well

they receive courting gifts such as very soft blankets and pillows and yummy food and the omega wonders if the alpha will really be that kind and not like their previous experiences

eventually, the omega decides to give the alpha a try and actually really likes them

a year later, they’re happily mated (maybe with pups on the way), and the omega is so content and happy even after what had happened in their past. they’re incredibly thankful to the alpha for not giving up on them

I really like these. Question: How would the omega behave if the abuser were to be a Beta or an Omega? Would anything change?

@pack-the-pack I believe so, yes! They could become more nervous in public (since there are more betas) or get very sensitive if they smell any heat scents in the area. they could possibly start freaking out over their own heat scents too, along with nesting maybe

nesting headcanons (200 followers)

I want to start off with a big thank you to all 247 followers! I’m happy to help y’all with headcanons and help with stories! I love getting asks and story ideas/prompts, so send some my way if you want! 

Anyways, this wasn’t as prolonged as the 100 special (I hit that milestone about two or three weeks ago). I got to this milestone (I think) last week, and I just really wanted to thank y’all. Next time, I might set up a poll so you can vote on what I should do for specials.

Every dynamic can nest, it’s just more encouraged for omegas to do it

Omegas have a natural instinct to nest, and an urge to do it more so than the other dynamics, so of course, it’s going to be more encouraged for them to do it

Betas occasionally nest and do so when they’re stressed out or sad, etc.

And some betas nest as frequently as omegas do, and some don’t nest at all

Alphas are rarely seen nesting, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen

They’ll nest when they’re very stressed, sad, etc.

Or maybe an alpha will nest when their mate can’t

In some verses, alpha nesting is frowned upon in society

Pups also could make small nests or help with their parents’ nests

An omega’s nest is extremely precious to them, so it’s sometimes considered an honor to aid with making it and/or lay in it with the omega

Omega’s love getting compliments on their nests, even if they don’t show it (it gives them some pride in themselves)

Though it’s not wise to step in an omega’s nest without their consent or invitation

An omega could become distressed if someone takes an object from their nest without the omega giving it to them

But the worst thing would be completely stripping the omega’s privileges of nesting

It could/would cause the omega to have (in some cases severe) mental and/or emotional trauma and health issues

In most cases, taking the privilege away should cause the omega’s mental health to drop slowly or quickly

Nesting tendencies in omegas usually start when they’re entering pre-heat or when they’re in heat since nests are warm, comfortable, and safe to the omega

They could also bring the pups into the nest once they’ve given birth, maybe to get the pups used to their scent

sorry I have been slow getting my mojo back people ... it is hurting my soul to see so many people I follow barred from view. 

while chilling like a villain though I have been exploring all these a/b/o verse headcanons. in all my years of rping, i’ve never really gotten into this particular verse and i’m slightly obsessed for a hot minute here. I even went looking for an rpg but nothing caught my interest.

important things to consider!!

MATE BONDS. usually occurring in shifters of some kind, but who the hell says you can’t have two humanoids with one? you feel your mate’s emotions just beneath the surface of your own. you get little inklings of them, like a whisper, just enough to have a general idea. eventually, once the bond has really solidified, a mental connection can be established (where brief conversations can be held).  there’s also a sense of knowing, no matter how far away your mate is, when something is wrong, or if they are okay.  they’re really in sync around one another, too.  if an alpha pair has an established/good mate bond, the entire pack (which experiences a pack bond) can feel theirs, too.

MARKING. mates biting to mark one another.  this wards off other potential suitors and shows the bitten as taken.  the mates also smell like each other, which increases aggression and possessiveness substantially. carnal territorial behaviors, especially if one mate was to become pregnant. skdfjsdfdsfsdf.

IMPRINTING. this is one of my favorites okay!! this can happen to and for any shifter after the age of eighteen, imo.  shifters under the age of eighteen cannot imprint, which often leads to a lot of casual dating and mucking around. but when the imprint does happen, it is intense, instantaneous.  the fun part, though, is that free will often plays a part in it, in that, if you imprint on someone you hate, it will not suddenly absolve you of this, but you will feel an innate desire to want to be around them.  that cognitive dissonance can drive new imprinters mad.  and yes, shifters can and do imprint on humans. 8| drama. however, shifters who imprint on other shifters can only mutually imprint. meaning: if one imprints, the other does, simultaneously, as well. very rarely does this happen otherwise, because a lack of reciprocation of an imprint is extremely painful for the imprinter.

basically what i’m saying here is:  give me mates and mate bonds and marking and imprinting and wOLVES and PACKS.

the squish headcanons

In my discord, we recently came up with the headcanon where dynamics “squish” others. Like, no joke, bunnies/rabbits will squish each other to say something like “I’m the boss”. 

The reason it got us thinking about A/B/O was that the “boss” bunny would make the decisions for the other and the other wouldn’t have to worry about it. Sometimes rabbits will ask for squishing by their owners (maybe a lil’ boop just to press their head) or try to squish their owner (sit on the hands). A good example of a squish would probably be

So that got the lot of us thinking. And here are some of the headcanons we came up with!

Omegas will “squish” their mates to show that they want to be the boss

They will also ask for a head squish if they feel bad, to kind of get the feeling of “I don’t have to worry, they’ve got this”

Omega children ask their parents to “do the squishy thing” when they’re stressed, upset, etc.

In general, children asking to be squished to feel comfort

A mute omega signing to their friends and/or mate to squish them because they feel “incomplete” for obvious reasons

Don’t squish an omega you don’t know, like do not

An omega’s mate could squish them when they need to calm down, such as when the omega’s trying to get their nest just right, or when they get worried about their pregnancy

A full squish (body on top of body) could possibly go badly, but maybe mates do those as a joke of sorts

An omega with really bad anxiety would probably require a full body squish to calm down from an attack

12. Have you ever blocked someone?

I have. Unfortunately, sometimes it is necessary. Sometimes it is what a certain friend of mine calls a soft block, just to get someone to unfollow you and then you unblock them. Sometimes it is a strong preference never to see someone’s posts again. 

14. How often do you receive anon hate? Or maybe someone had sent you hate without anon?

Really rarely actually. I had a Jeffrey Allen White muse for a while and he weirdly attracted more hate anons than anyone else. I mean he was an asshole character but no more so than many others I have written. He seemed to really bring out the dislike in people though. No idea why. 

One person did send me hate and forget to mark it as anon. They tried to explain it away as being in character. Needless to say, I did not write with them any longer.

However, as a general rule, I have gotten very little anon hate and I recognize that I have been very fortunate in this. I know some other people really get hassled with anon hate.

Poly Relationship Headcanons

-An A/A/O relationship and the three of them house hunting but having a difficult time with it because the Omega is being very picky about finding a house with a bathtub big enough for all three of them to fit in, which is nearly impossible. The Alphas are slightly frustrated but they also think it’s cute how important it is to their little mate

-An A/B/O relationship and the Alpha and Beta are all curled up on the couch watching a movie when their Omega walks in all grumpy (because they are low-key feeling left out) and silently shifting as the Omega squeezes themselves between the two and settles for a nap, sighing contently as one set of fingers run through their hair and another traces light circles on their shoulder

-An A/O/O relationship and one of the Omegas is pregnant and as the months go by and the other Omega helps take care of them, the nonpregnant Omega declares that they have no desire to ever go through all the pain and discomfort that comes with being pregnant…that is, until the babies are born and the Omega is so in love with them and they tell their Alpha they want to try for pups during their next heat…ignoring the smug looks on their mates faces at how quickly they’d changed their mind

-An A/A/O relationship in which the Omega seems very innocent most of the time but low-key gets riled up whenever the two Alphas get physical with each other. The Alphas catching on to the Omega’s secret pleasure and randomly making out with each other just to make their cute little Omega squirm until they decide to turn their attention to them

-An A/B/O relationship and during the Omega’s heat the Alpha does most of the fucking but the Beta is present, pulling the Omega to lie against their chest, stroking their hair and murmuring praises while maintaining eye contact with the Alpha because they know the Alpha loves it. The Beta taking it upon themselves to make sure everybody stays hydrated and happily pleasuring the Omega during the less intense waves of heat when the Alpha is less possessive and willing to share more

-An A/O/O relationship and whenever one Omega gets mad at the Alpha, the other Omega almost always takes their side because they are extremely sensitive to their Omega mate’s distress and they get very upset with the Alpha for making them unhappy

-An A/A/O relationship where both Alphas are obnoxiously horny and the very frequent activity is making the Omega tired and grouchy and finally they are just, “Honestly if you need it so badly just fuck each other for godsake, I need a nap.” and it’s not until the Omega is curled up in bed that they hear noises downstairs and with wide eyes and red cheeks they realise that the Alphas had obviously taken the suggestion to heart…sleeping becomes very hard after that

-An A/B/O relationship in which the Omega is more aggressive and outspoken and the Beta is very quiet and gentle, so outside of heats the Alpha and Omega treat the Beta how Omegas are usually treated. The Omega acting much softer around the Beta and being so content to hand feed them little snacks they’ve made, always lighting up whenever they receive praise for their cooking. The Alpha absolutely loving it when the usually reserved Beta plops down on them and demands cuddles and affection that the Alpha is all too happy to provide, being even more happy when their grumpy Omega finally comes in and gives them both a kiss before settling in to cuddle the Beta as well

-An A/O/O relationship in which one Omega is very anxious and gets depressed a lot when left alone so the Alpha suggests adding another Omega to the relationship so they won’t be as lonely anymore when the Alpha is busy. Both agreeing but being nervous as the Alpha tries to find an Omega that they think will be suitable and quickly becoming attached to a very sweet and cheerful Omega…the Alpha being thrilled when their current Omega forms an immediate attachment to the new mate that they chose

LOL.... okay ... I don’t think I have one to be honest. I’m pretty irrelevant for the most part. I’m not involved in ship wars. The Vikings fandom is small and even within it, I’m like barely registering. I pretty much just swim along doing my thing....
