This is pretty much how I’ve been feeling recently. Despite being on medication and regularly seeking medical help, I’ve felt really alone. There have been a lot of people who have let me down - especially over the past few weeks. Friends and family have made the last few weeks pretty unbearable. People who say they care and they’ll be there any time just aren’t and it’s been difficult coming to that realisation. When I have reached out to certain people for help, they’ve made me feel like what it is that was troubling me was my own fault. A lot of people think that just because I hitch a smile on my face, I’m completely fine and that they can act pretty shoddily towards me. That’s not the case. You aren’t the only one dealing with things and going through a rough time. As much as I’d love to be the person who can constantly put others first and be happy, I can’t. It’s not possible. Neglecting friendships and relationships means means you end up losing people by taking them for granted...

I’ve never really been a fan of Valentine’s Day. It’s definitely not a day I celebrate - no matter what my relationship status is! So on Valentine’s Day, I like to say how thankful and appreciative I am of all the women in my life. Women don’t support each other and lift each other up enough and we don’t tend to celebrate each other enough so, here’s to every woman in my life! From my sisters and my mum, to my cousins, my friends. All of you lift me up when I need it the most and I love you endlessly for it.
