in that post you reblogged, you said in the tags that "shop3 being played in Ch4 is literally enough for Dess Knight to be 100% true btw". could you explain how that is evidence for Dess Knight? don't get me wrong i'm already a believer, i just don't see that how that specific detail is evidence.
anyways. i hope you have a good day. buh-bye.
Yeah I wrote the whole thing over on my other blog, don't reblog much over there so that way discussion-type-notes are easier to find.
💬 0 🔁 1 ❤️ 0 · Shop3 in Chapter 4 as Dess Knight evidence. · Spoilers for Chapter 5 normal route.
So, with the chapter 5 cliff shop havin
So, with the chapter 5 cliff shop having the same song, we're getting the confirmation most of the music in Dark Worlds coming from whoever made the fountain.
(RIP Placeholder Floradinn)
Even if not everyone can hear it,
it is diegetically in universe. (shout outs to the Mizzles singing along)
Some area and character themes are at least.
This, combined with our newly perfect knowledge of who created which fountains in Chapters 2 through 5,
(and let's be honest Card Kingdom was obviously Kris. Chapter 3's Flying Seven Aces were enough to prove that, if Floradinns and all the reused Jevil-isms aren't.)
lets us infer a lot of new information about the characters who made them. But, focusing just on the music for now: The Roaring Knight REALLY likes remixes. "WELCOME TO THE CITY" and "A CYBER'S WORLD" are almost the same song, Sweet Cap'n Cakes have remixes of the same song in the official OST like 5 times for some reason (over 10% of the album) and Queen literally has a song called "Cool Mixtape." Think about how many times we hear her songs remixed/bitcrushed before we get to hear them for real. All of this and still saying nothing of Spamton "steals your motif" Spamton.
(Hey bro is it cool if your motifs are literally a higher percentage of my song than your own?)
If you compare that to Chapter 5's area themes: Garden of Hopes and Dreams, Quiet Glade, Sunset of Seven Suns, Flower Castle, Thousand Cafe Zukan, and Running Sky. All different areas, all very different songs. There's the shared motif/remixes for the different flowers, but they're all part of the same team so that would probably be the same no matter who made the fountain. If we compare to Card Kingdom we see the same pattern: Filed of Hopes and Dreams, Quiet Autumn, Scarlet Forest, Card Castle, etc. Checker Dance was entirely unique until Chapter 5's Inappropriate Recycling remix.
This idea even tracks as far as Susie in Chapter 4. You know how Second Sanctuary kind of sounds like ringtone with added drums and the humming from Dark Sanctuary? Think about what Susie, someone who's not very musically inclined yet, would have in her head. She just did drumming the night before in Lightners Live, she's been hearing Ralsei (and maybe some Mizzles) humming Dark Sanctuary, and then combine that with some jingle/ringtone stuck in her head for some time now. Bam: Second Sanctuary. Now we go back to all the remixes: Since we know some characters can hear the area music in universe, isn't it interesting that Third Sanctuary is a remix of Second Sanctuary in the Dark World made by The Roaring Knight?
Has anyone else noticed that the 3 area songs for CastleTown are all remixes of the same song? Hmm...I Wonder Who Made That Fountain...Maybe The Character Who's Motif Plays When We First Open The Doors To The Computer Lab and Storage Closet. (ignore chapter 5's dark world and pay attention to how we get remixes of songs in CastleTown instead please)
I know what you're thinking: "Okay What About Rouxls And Lancer from the Swan Ride? That's in Chapter 2, but Kris plays those songs on piano too!"
I'm so glad you asked! I think for Rouxls it's possible he just brings his music with him, if what Susie said is anything to go off of. But for Lancer's romantic swan waltz, there is no such excuse. At best that boy is still digesting a Cool Mixtape. Well, we know Kris is working with The Knight, and given that they have antlers we can assume it's a Holiday. We know that Kris still has strong connections to the Holiday family, and it's not strange to think that they would influence each other. The question at this point is who would it be?
If we remind ourselves that the implication is a lot of the music in game was written in universe, then all we have to do is figure out someone who would know some of Kris' piano songs well enough for them to show up in their dark world...
...and we're left with a very narrow list of candidates for who Kris would play piano alongside their singing.
December Holiday.
(Also she's the only other lightner musician in the whole game lol. Probably would have been better to just lead with that actually...)
FAQ
Couldn't Noelle still be a candidate?
No
What about Carol?
lol. Also not gonna happen for other reasons outside the purview of this analysis, but: Lol.
What about Capitalization on some songs? Like ATRIUM and TV WORLD?
Idk but if Trouble Dingle is anything to go off of Gaster probably wrote/remixed some songs too like ANOTHER HIM. (But probably not TV WORLD)
How do you know that Don't Forget isn't being sung by Asriel after voice training and transitioning and shaving off her horns but realizing she prefers having antlers and getting them transplanted like that one Garfield Breast Reduction Surgery Meme from Dess which is why TRK has antlers despite being Asriel???? How do we know it's not Secretly Undyne playing that song when she teaches piano??????
Got Me There TBH. That said, I think you should click this link
i find this a fascinating piece of worldbuilding personally because it implies that cops are having an absolutely terrible time trying to date anyone who isn't also a cop - and that's a good thing. that means everybody fucking hates them. and they should! the fact there's an app trying to monetize this sucks obviously but the fact there is a need for this app at all means cops are universally getting dumped the second a potential partner discovers they're a cop, and that rules
ive seen a few people speculating about this moment after the encounter with orange and i just feel like giving my own interpretation. i do think its possible (as some people have already said) that susie getting uncomfortable after ralsei tells orange humans dont have tails is foreshadowing something to do with susies backstory, particularly something to do with her self consciousness about her own tail.
what it made me think of more immediately though was susie learning healing magic in chapter 4. orange tries to attack the party and does no damage, ralsei reacts in a way thats supportive but clearly condescending and belittling. susie tries to chime in with more genuine support but is too late. i think susie is relating to the feeling of trying something new, something you dont necessarily feel suited for and arent immediately good at but that other people seem able to do effortlessly. when ralsei fawns at oranges failed attempts, i think it reminds her of ralsei showing superficial support at her learning healing magic but clearly not believing in her abilities or having much patience for her when someone actually needs healing.
this isnt like a condemnation of ralsei but it is a really interesting way him and susie differ that i think stems from the larger overarching themes of their respective characters. ralseis belief system hinges on the idea that people have innate qualities and roles that cant be meaningfully altered. susie is change personified, and while ralsei definitely acknowledges her growth, i think susie still notices when this side of him comes out even in these small seemingly innocuous ways.
i like how the one thing the shadow bosses have in common is that they all have animations where they just laugh and giggle.... fuck is so funny for bruh quit that shit already /jjjjjj
the amazing digital circus is a show about empathy and what it does to you if you go too long without a support system so the show starts with sympathizing with Pomni (the most empathetic person, easy), ep2 is empathizing with an NPC in a game (no flaws), ep3 is empathizing with a man who has dementia, ep4 is empathizing with someone who annoys you when they're unmasking, ep5 is asking you to empathize with a rich white woman and so on....
so it all works up to the empathy boss - a bush era edgelord millenial trans girl who thinks she's Max from Sam & Max and is inherently unworthy of love
