How...strange. I can assure you that I have not been out in the desert recently--I've stayed here on the Strip. There's nothing out there, so I have no reason to leave. It seems to be a strange phenomenon that people find resemblances between us, though.

Not sure if there are any cats in the mojave, but just curious, since the original Romans loved cats so much, would the legion have any use for them?

I would not think the Legion has any practical use for cats aside from keeping them as companions. I have not encountered a cat here in the Mojave. If they are still alive after the war, then they are much rarer than mongrels are.

Firstly--Caesar does not wear a dress. Secondly, I would never be a performer at Gomorrah, that den of sin, even if I was anything other than a Frumentarius. If I were to be anything other than a soldier, I would think myself to be a farmer.

The Burned Man and my Lord were never "together" in the way you think. They were never married, thus they never got divorced.

While yes, they both raised me, I do not think that their problems have ever directly affected me. I do sometimes think about the Malpais Legate and how he managed the troops he was given, as opposed to...the current Legate, but that really is it aside from nostalgic memories I only indulge in when there is no more work to be done.

If your partner was Orpheus and you were Euridice, do you think they'd turn around?

Ah, the story of Orpheus and Euridice--I haven't needed to discuss this tale in a long time, given that it does not pertain to Rome or Roman beliefs.

I would hope that they do not doubt the word of the Gods, though I know that they do not particularly hold any religions close to them, and do not worship any Gods that I know of, so I believe it would be natural for them to doubt whether or not they would be telling the truth.

I would like to believe that my partner would not turn around, as I would not like to think of the possibility of being lost to them forever--hypothetical or not.

(I use these when out of character in rp scenarios usually. Mainly doing it now to provide context. My OC has a dog that me and buddy came up literal weeks before the news about the supposed Dire Wolf twins born in a lab. We called our creation, Fenrirs, basically giant doggo wolf hybrids that were bred with various working breeds alongside different wolves by Big MT to try and bring Dire Wolves back. Resulting in a creature that grows until it decides it doesn't need to anymore. Though the Legendary size does seem to the be the limit, with them being able to fight Deathclaws and potentially win. My OC's doggo, Brun, is nowhere near that size, but she is a significant size. Basically the size actual Dire Wolves reached before their extinction. Especially for someone who is only 5'3" and barely a hundred pounds at best. That said, she is a psyker, so she ain't fooled easily by disguises the Legion uses. Brun and her fellow mutts are also known for being very valued warhounds and emotional support critters. Being highly capable at both and forming tight bonds with their owners. Pardon the info dump, just wanted to make sure this was added to avoid confusion lol. My OC Faye also has a Unicorn/Pristine Sleipnir based on user Owligator's art and concepts. Pardon moi for ze info dump.)

Faye is traveling along in New Vegas, trying to avoid too much attention. Unfortunately her Sleipnir, Oracle was bringing enough of it on her own. Her frosted appaloosan markings on a black coat being ever striking. Her canine companion, Brun, also brought lots of attention. Some complimented her red fur, which resembled the Maned Wolves of the pre war era. Not that Faye said it aloud, as she wasn't all too fond of letting on just how old she actually was to strangers. Having been alive to see the bombs drop when she was 25, and becoming biologically stuck in her physical prime of 30 years much later. Such a miracle always brought questions she didn't like answering, so Faye tried not to share too much or let any past factoids from her time as a pre war gal slip. That said, a man with a comically large hat and a suit that looked far too neat was tailing her one night. She was concerned to begin with, but when she picked up on his intentions, on him being Legion, she grew nervous. Brun reacted to it by all but leaning against her as they walked on. Oracle was currently in a stable on the outskirts, and Faye didn't want to risk a confrontation with no one around. So she found a spot under a streetlight to rest, trying to appear normal while petting and loving on Brun. She only glanced up at the man when he approached, his eyes going between her and Brun.

Faye hoped her terribly skinny frame from hyperthyroidism, and her far from blessed chest wouldn't be enticing to this one. Course she knew that some especially fucked individuals were among the Legion too. She avoids prying into his mind for now, settling on just appearing mostly normal. Hoping the streetlight was enough to hide the golden glow of her eyes now that it was night, "Need something sugar?", she asks him simply, her Tulsan accent giving away her status as an Okie. Course, that was assuming this one was a part of that campaign.

He doesn't say anything right away, instead studying her and her odd choice of...company. When he does decide to say something, his tone is guarded, having the slightest suspicion that she is onto him.

I suppose I do not need anything. I simply find myself...curious about you and the strange creatures you keep.

He says, gesturing to Brun. He does not seem to be malicious, though that might just be because there are a few people passing by, and he is still undercover.

also you don't need to apologize for the info dump !! i'd rather receive a bunch of info dumps than be confused on what someone wants from an rp :)

(Aw yay, glad to know it helped! This one'll be a lot shorter lol. The chirps are her tourette's vocal tic, and she's wearing a macrame dress for context. As for her jewelry, look up trinket necklaces. Lots of neat stuff in that regard.)

Faye looks at the man with a tilt of her head, smoothing a bit of her unruly brown hair back behind her ear before looking at Brun, "Suppose I can't blame ya, she's drawn quite a few heads. Couple of Mamas have been pretty surprised at how good she is with their little ones. Not that she isn't good for guarding by any means. What exactly are ya looking to know about her?"

She maintains a collected tone and her body language is guarded. Her eyes cautious as she observes him. If the man didn't know any better, their hue almost resembled honey or amber. Clothing is largely unassuming, looking like strands of cloth or something else woven together in a pattern made to resemble a dress. Only far more revealing, yet this went beyond the usual attire of the whores on the strip. She wasn't a strip girl, didn't carry herself like it in spite of the strange dress. No, this one was too confident for how cagey she was. She wasn't flaunting, she was just comfortable, a dangerous attitude for a woman to have. Especially in attire like this, with no armor, while alone with only a dog, and having a very weak looking body. Yet, something about this felt a bit too purposeful. Not a trap, but more of a carefully concealed truth. She even suddenly chirps a few times. Her body twitching with each one, causing her jewelry made of various trinkets, cloth, metals, and stones to jingle. Which didn't help him feel less suspicious, and he could tell she was watching keenly for his reaction to that odd tic.

He continues to study her intensely, trying to figure out what exactly she is, and what she's hiding.

I am curious about everything about your creature, and any information you are willing to spare would be acceptable. I’ve never seen anything like…her, and wanted to know—is she, well, is she wild, or something modified?

He asks, watching her closely as she chirps suddenly, his gaze staying on her for even longer when he realizes her strange way of dressing. He says nothing about it, at least not yet.

"I found Brun here by herself as a pup. Poor thing was all alone, crying and hungry. Couldn't just leave her like that, so I took her in. She's been by my side ever since. Couldn't tell ya about any others I'm afraid.", she says simply, her okie accent slipping through, "As for more info, I'd need specifics honey. Unless you want disjointed rambling. Been told I get confusing when I ramble."

Faye then leans her head back, this one was more persistent than most. She had to give him that, but it also meant he was more draining. The longer she spent trying to get him to back off, the longer she wasted energy trying to hide her eye glow from his perception. Legion definitely wouldn't tolerate a mutant, even if she was capable of future sight. Not that she'd wanna risk her sorry ass offering that sort of thing. Caesar was rumored to be unstable nowadays, and that meant even she'd struggle to be sure of just whether or not he'd kill her over a future he didn't like the sound of. Her choice to be vague in her wording when giving such services probably wouldn't help her either. Brun noted her encroaching exhaustion, and placed herself between Faye and the stranger. Having a bad feeling about this one.

He doesn't seem very intent on leaving, instead inviting her rambling if it means getting more information out of her.

There is no practical reason for your clothing and jewelry, if you do not mind me saying, and this is not the...safest place.

He remarks, his brow cocking slightly when Brun steps between them.

Faye tilts her head at him, catching onto what he's trying to do. He wants information, she decides to be careful with what she says. Though it doesn't mean she'll necessarily lie either. She doesn't need to, not really.

"Believe me sugar, I know this get up makes me seem easy. But a lady has her ways, and I've had a few men learn the hard way why trusting a witch with your cooking can be...risky. Much like the Huldra myths of the ancient world, about as far back as Mars himself I daresay, treat her well and she may help you. Treat her poorly, and your comrades may not hear from you again."

Faye then stands back up before answering his first question.

"As for my choice of attire, hyperthyroidism is a bitch darlin'. Makes one susceptible to extreme temperatures, so this clothing helps with that. I cover up more when winter rolls around. The necklace is just trinkets I've collected or mementos from the past. Nothing more or less."

She is exuding confidence, a dangerous way for such a little woman to present herself. Yet deep down, he could feel that this woman earned the right to be this confident. If he only he could figure out what.

I never meant to imply that you seem..."easy," if that is what you assume. I am simply...intrigued, given that most women on the Strip wear the same types of pre-war dresses and clothing.

At this point, he's halfway close to giving up on trying to figure her out by asking things of her, but there is no doubt in her mind or his that he will be tailing her for a period of time, curious about the animal she keeps with her, and convinced that there is more to the story than what she's told him.

What a disgusting question. I do not know why so many Wastelanders are so fixated on who I wish to "crack." It's a vulgar question and is disrespectful, though I am convinced that most of you have forgotten what respect and decency are.

Anyway, if I were to give an answer, I would say my partner, for I do not want them to be upset at me, and also because I do not wish to...do anything with anyone but them.

I am not deranged. Not only that, I do not think that the lack of a mother figure in my life has impacted me deeply. I was trained by the Malpais Legate himself, and then trained by my Lord Caesar, so there was plenty of guidance within my life, so I do not believe that I am "missing" anything due to my lack of a mother figure.
