The ceremony
“The grown ups are talking, Lilly, why don’t you go sit down and shut up.” He said, looking back to Cato. “I’ll cut you a deal, Cato…I won’t gut your daughter right here in front of everyone if…you turn your humanity off.” He said. every muscle in Cato’s body tensed all at once. He looked to Bucky and then Eo Adam. “I-I…I can’t…I…” A knife appeared in Jack’s hand and Cato jolted, holding out a hand, he paled in fear. “Wait…” Cato said. He looked at Bucky and let out a heavy sigh, shaking his head slightly. He knew he didn’t have any other choice. He knew Jack would kill her right now if he didn’t listen.
“Daddy, don’t!” Annabelle begged. Hank shook his head fiercely at Cato.
While everyone was fixated on Cato, Ari reached foe the knife strapped around her thigh, her eyes never leaving Jack’s face.
Adam stared at the table, feeling dread pool in his stomach at jacks words. This is exactly what he feared would happen. Lilys eyes widened as she looked between annabelle and cato. She knew he wouldn’t risk waiting and figuring out a plan. And she knew Jack wasn’t one to wait. Which meant they would need to deal with cato humanity less again. And she knew little about it.
“If I do this…you let her go.” Cato said through his teeth at Jack. “You let go of her and let her go home with her mother.” Jack watched Cato and then glanced over at Bucky. “You have yourself a deal, Cato.” He chuckled. Cato looked down at Annabelle. “I’ll come back…I promise…I can’t let him hurt you.” He whispered. Jack rolled his eyes and pressed the knife to Annabelle’s throat. “Enough with the bullshit. Do it.” He growled.
“Cato!” Bucky shouted warningly. Hank wrenched to free himself of Crowley’s hold.
“Rebecka! I don’t have another choice.” Cato said through his teeth. “I’m sorry..” He looked over at her, his eyes begging for her to understand. “Bring me back…” He said. Before anyone else could protest anymore the pain and guilt faded from Cato’s face and he straightened up, popping his neck. He narrowed his eyes at Jack. “We had a deal?” He asked. Jack looked around the room, grinning at Ari, Lilly, and Adam. “I’m not usually a man of my word…but this is going to be fun.” He said, shoving Annabelle towards Cato. Cato caught her around the ribs with his arm before she tumbled to the ground. He pulled her up straight and raised an eyebrow. “Are you okay?” He asked, watching her. His words were kind but there was no emotion in his voice or on his face.
“You promised,” Annabelle whispered, fear and anger in her gaze. “You promised you wouldn’t turn it off again, no matter what!” She jerked away from Cato. Liam started forward, but Sam motioned him back.
Swearing, Hank snapped an elbow back into Crowley’s ribs and twisted, trying to slip free. Ari freed her knife from its sheath and hurled it at Jack.
