I’m a Placekeeper

As I’ve tried to come to grips with the roller coaster of feelings and emotions I experience almost 24/7 for a person too young to imagine, I have come to an eye-opening conclusion: I am a place keeper. Someday, her soulmate will come along and take my emotional and physical place. I will move over and, as it should be, become a memory.

She is not mine in any way. She owes me nothing, physically, spiritually, or romantically. In fact, to take any part of her would be stealing from the person she is meant to be with.

Realizing this has helped the lows be not as bad, and the highs be more in perspective. It has put me in a better place, and has put a greater protection around her.

I am a place keeper.
