I just finished reading Delirium by Lauren Oliver -- it's safe to say my mind is blown . I loved it
brain: that boy is so cute and kind don't you just want to...
me: ohH no not this again.
brain: but you gotta...
I just want someone to hear what I have to say. And maybe if I talk long enough, it’ll make sense.
Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 (via larmoyante)
I hate diet talk, I hate the normalised fucking diet pills, diet shakes, meal supplements, I hate the weight loss tips in magazines and the constant glorification of calorie free, I fucking hate it

A Thank You Note to My Body
Today I woke up, did yoga, drank coffee, then went for a run. Then I ate breakfast. Afterwards I looked in the mirror. I lifted up my shirt and ran my hands along my full stomach and ribs and hips. It used to be a habit to do that every morning, more than once, for hours. There would be tears and pinching and pulling and hitting. Today, I woke up, did yoga, drank coffee and went for a run. I ate breakfast then I looked in the mirror. I looked in the mirror and ran my hands along my full stomach and ribs and hips. I ran my hands along my body and I did not cry. I did not look at my body in anguish or hatred. I looked at my body and I felt the bumps and I felt the fat. I felt my body and I was grateful. I said thank you to my body for dealing with all the shit I’ve put it through these last four years. Thanking it for being strong even now. For letting me run and do yoga and drink coffee. For letting me eat breakfast.
You’re going to be sad. You’re going to want to scream and punch things. Do it. Let out every ounce of anger you have. Sit on the floor and cry until you feel numb. Listen to songs that make your heart sink to your feet. Write angry letters to all the people who have broken you, left you, ignored you or hurt you. Throw your hairbrush at the wall. Do it twelve times. Do it until you feel like you can breathe again. You’re going to be sad. You’re going to want to hurt yourself. Don’t you dare do it. Sit on the floor and watch cartoons like you did when you were little. Listen to songs that make you want to dance around your bedroom in your underwear at 3 A.M. Make paper airplanes out of those angry letters and watch them soar into the fireplace. Brush all the knots out of your hair and say “I am worth it” into the mirror. Say it twelve times. Say it until you feel like you can breathe again. You’re going to be sad. You’re going to get through it.

Breathe. You’re going to be okay. Breathe and remember that you’ve been in this place before. You’ve been this uncomfortable and anxious and scared, and you’ve survived. Breathe and know that you can survive this too. These feelings can’t break you. They’re painful and debilitating, but you can sit with them and eventually, they will pass. Maybe not immediately, but sometime soon, they are going to fade and when they do, you’ll look back at this moment and laugh for having doubted your resilience. I know it feels unbearable right now, but keep breathing, again and again. This will pass. I promise it will pass.

Suppressing my malevolent urge To run to the toilet Because I know I shouldn't throw up what I just ate But I want to I want to exile the calories Attaching themselves to my thighs and my hips I want them gone before they have a chance to make their stay permanent I tell myself if I puke now They won't have a chance to fatten me more If I puke now The calories will leave my body Dispelling possible weight gain If I puke now I will get thin THIN the objective of every calorie crazed human The focal point of my years of control And sole director of my weight loss journey But I have never had an eating disorder no I have had 'disordered eating habits' But I have always maintained an average weight My therapist calls it 'disordered eating' I think I know why, it's because When I eat, everything is out of order I am out of control I am out of place, out of order, out of time The time it takes to run to the bathroom and throw up right now would take no time at all And I would be left feeling better about myself For the calories that once sat in my stomach Would rest in the toilet bowl But I can't run to the toilet I won't let myself Because the possibility of caloric expulsion Is not worth my ability to function My ability to shower My ability to sleep My ability to write To hold a pencil To focus I will not let my urge to rid myself of these stupid calories control me anymore Because all I wanted was control But I gave that up the moment I stepped on the scale I will not let the obscene idea of perfection dictate my life anymore BECAUSE THERE IS NO SUCH THING Perfection is an abstract concept Formulated in our minds at a young age Shaped by media and fashion and corporate dictators looking for a money grab. These selfish fools Give us unattainable ideals And make us buy the means in which to try to attain this goal The perfect, photoshopped, air brushed, fine tuned, computer generated perfect person is fake No human could ever attain the picture of perfection because perfection is not humanly possible I will not succumb to the girl in my head screaming that if I don't throw up I will be fat forever I will not listen to the voices I will not exploit myself in order to please people dictating how people view themselves I will not run to the toilet
I don’t need you anymore. I guess I never really did. I’m not sure if what we had was real or not but I cared about you so much it hurt. I think I’ll always care and love you but it’s not the way I used to care about you. I’ll never forget that one night. It was truly perfect but that’s just a memory now. I hope you find someone who treats you right and makes you happy, I honestly do.
I just want to go to a cabin in the woods and get wasted... is that too much to ask?
My Favourite Things About the Signs
Aquarius: your energy, you always seem to brighten up the room. your laugh is contagious. your smile is effervescent. your confidence is inspiring.
Libra: your laugh, wether it is loud and boisterous or concealed and soft, it is beautiful and infectious. you are so funny-and can bring joy and lightness to almost any situation. you have the ability to surround yourself with wonderful people and are great at keeping friendships alive.
Gemini: your voice, when you talk or sing, birds and small critters gather. you could be talking about a subject that is boring and bland, but people would still listen because the way you speak is captivating.
Beware of young girls who come to the door Wistful and pale, of twenty-and-four Delivering daisies with delicate hands... Beware of young girls, too often they crave To cry at a wedding or dance on a grave...
—Dory Previn, "Beware Of Young Girls"

you are beautiful and I am beautiful and we deserve more than this
The saddest truth is realising you have fallen madly in love with what can never be.
