I have been drunk on the au juices for so long and from two of your posts before, it got me thinking, how do other varients react to CB and what kind of twists do the different swaps have if they have a CB au varient. Since the swap Tennas are the one who would have the thorn ring to give.
I would especially like to know your thoughts on the normal swap by diionysan and the two slugs that are New Deal AU Tenna by @salad-006 and Swap AU Tenna by @spedles
Hoooh boy, apologies this took me a sec to answer but your ask was SO COOL that it took a life of its own and I ended up making a buncha drawings for it! Buckle up cuz I have A Lot to say!
Note: I'm just going based on my own interpretation of the thorn ring, and the rules that I made up for it.
Those being (to summarize it): Causing weakness and memory issues to the wearer, and making the wearer have total devotion to the person who put it on them!
Okay so now I'm gonna go thru how I think the thorn rings would effect each au!
First up: Swap au by @ diionysan on twitter and tiktok!
So, I'll be honest I didn't have a lot of ideas for this one? I don't rlly have a good grasp on Swap Spamton's personality and ad world. But he strikes me as a guy that would fight tooth and nail to keep up appearances, so even though the thorn ring is weakening him and causing him bouts of disorientation, I think he would just ignore it and just focus on keeping busy!
He'd wear his shades to hide his tired eyes, and he'd stop wearing his white suit bc he keeps getting nosebleeds and they kept staining the suit. I thought it'd be funny if swap Tenna just kinda perches on his shoulder like an evil parrot that tells him what to do, so idk ig thats how he subtly takes over ad world! (ik he's not that small so assume its the hologram he's on, lol)
Next up: New Deal au by @salad-006
This one is interesting bc I actually don't think the thorn ring would work on New Deal Spamton at all!
Because well, New Deal Spamton is already being controlled by Something Else. I think Mike would just cancel out the ring, so it wouldn't be able to take any effect! Rip to the thorn ring, but Mike was stronger!
And last but not least: Deltaswap au by @spedles
Okay so I wanted to take Deltaswap Tenna's personality into account, and from what I gathered he doesn't seem very malicious? So I assume he wouldn't give the ring to Spamton knowing it would harm him.
So uh, I felt it would make more sense if he was straight up lied to about it. Idk why or by who but just roll with it lol! It's a super cool ring that should totally be gifted to the love of your life, he'll thank you for suuure!
Deltaswap Spamton is Very Small, so I'd assume his hp isn't that high, and he doesn't rlly take great care of himself so he's not at his best health either. So I think that upon the ring being put on, the ring's influence would be able to easily take over like 90% and now he's like basically a zombie.
The hologram would still be in use, just via the ring's influence, so outwardly it seems like nothing is wrong! Like, to overly compensating extent, he's super positive all the time and that's, well, very unlike him huh? And sometimes the hologram has these weird glitches (momentary bouts of awareness).
Anyway those are my ideas on how I think the thorn ring would effect each Spamton, if the creators happen to see this I'd love to hear your takes on if I got some ideas right or how you think it would differ :] !
