*Shakes his hand* David Nolan. Nice to meet you too! *patiently waits for the man to be ready to present his invention.
Anything you want, sir. [Reed straightens up.] How can I help you?
We have a new selection available at the store — well, actually, I do. I’m trying to see if my new idea will become a hit or not. Care to see?

Moonlight Avenue | Sanford and David
Sanford smiled and nodded his welcome to the man before tucking the sweets back into the bag, only after sneaking one himself and then put up a hand and digging in his pockets to pull out his name book. He pulled it out and showed the cover reading ‘Sanford’ then nodded to the book to say his name and offering it to the man knowing it could be hard to read under the street light. He knew of David, he was the talk of gossip lately and it was hard not to hear gossip when one could not speak. He was curious about the man.
David was confused when the man handed him a notebook, but held it close to his eyes. "Sanford." he read aloud. "That's your name?" he was still confused as to why the man didn't speak, but he was willing to continue this odd conversation. Perhaps there was someone odder than him in Storybrooke after all.
Where is everybody usually? I’m normally on my own, so I don’t really notice.
It’s just weird. You’d think a sale would drag everybody in.
Well it brought me in. What do you have for me?
Dull Clouds, Silver Lining II Silena and David II
Her expression fell a little. So perhaps the weather? “Oh no, it’s okay-” She smiled at him, liking her lips slightly as her eyes turned to the floor. She wondered what on earth she could say to him now. Everything sounded like a weird pick-up line, which totally wasn’t the case, but he interested her.
"I’m glad it’s not raining yet, it’s already quite cold though-" With a smile upon her lips, her orbs turned upwards to the grey sky, it appeared that only a few silver linings were arrayed around the collection.
The weather. David's instincts picked up on the fact that she was just trying to make conversation, and that the weather probably wasn't the thing she'd actually like to talk about. She probably didn't even care to know what time it was.
"It's been freezing." he agreed, deciding that he would contribute to the conversation as well since she'd been the braver out of the two of them in coming and starting one up. "Is it always this cold in Storybrooke?"
"I'm so sorry-"
"Maddison Wander, but you can call me Maddie~" She replied with a polite smile and semi-curtsy to the man. "And who might you be?" She questioned, she’d never seen him in the tea shop or around town so… she didn’t know who he might be.
"I'm David Nolan," he said, extending a hand for her to shake. The name still felt wrong in ways that he couldn't explain, but at least it had become easier to say. "It's nice to meet you." It was nice to meet someone as friendly as her.
It’s been so, sooooooooo slow at the store this week. Where is everybody?
"Not where they usually are, I've noticed. It's been really weird this week."
"I'm so sorry-"
"Me? It’s…" She glanced down at her arm. "Half past a freckle." She looked back up at him and grinned innocently. She started giggling after a moment. "Kidding! It’s about 2:30."
David blinked at her at first, having never heard that response before. But then, seeing a mischievous twinkle in the young woman's eyes, he also began to laugh. "Thank you!" he chuckled. "What is your name?"

He seemed nice, but she didn’t want to bother him with her strange hobby he thinks she must have. Smiling at strangers was something she did almost always, but talking however was not her favourite pastime at all. She tucked some hair behind her ear before gathering the courage to walk over to him. Her shoes clicked against the floor.
"Um, do you have the time?" Now this was a most clever way of opening up to someone; well apart from the weather. Well she hoped he wouldn’t think her a stalker.
David was relieved when she approached, sparing him the awkwardness of asking her who she was and generally making a fool of himself. He smiled when she spoke to him, but regretfully replied, "No, I'm sorry. I always forget to wear my watch." he held up his empty wrist to prove it. It wasn't actually that he forgot, more that he deliberately chose not to wear it. It was something Katherine had apparently given him years ago, and he knew that wearing it only gave her false hope.
"I'm so sorry-"
"But do you happen to know the time?"
Dull Clouds, Silver Lining II Silena and David II
Silena brushed some hair from her face; it was an overcast day and yet she felt something so very dull.
She blew a leaf that had landed on her face elsewhere. It was so windy that even seagulls failed to reach their steady point overhead. The milky clouds seem almost intent that they would not get to their destination.
When she spotted somebody across the street she smiled, and then found herself slightly curious about this person in question. 'I wonder who they are.' She was slightly mystified by this.
David was strolling down main street, as he'd taken to doing when he needed to think. He did so at all hours of the day now, weaving around people and cars, nodding to anyone he passed. He'd grown used to most of their faces by now, for everyone seemed to walk about at certain hours of the day. But today he spotted someone different, who smiled at him. He grinned openly back, wondering who she was. Should he ask her? Would that be weird? He slowed to a stop as he thought about it.

Sanford watched as the man crouched beside him and let out a laugh waving his hand in front of his face to wave the man off and tell him it was ok. Sanford was not well acquainted with the ground, he was actually rather graceful all things considered, but he was not a total stranger to it. He did not mind the odd tumble, it happened to everyone. He smiled up at the man in font of him and stood up seeing his candy in the guy’s hands and brightly taking it bowing his thanks to him. His Candy was important to him, he brought a lot of joy with that bag. He pulled out a bag of small jawbreakers and offered one to the man trying to help him shaking it temptingly and smiling sweetly to show him the offer was of friendship. The man obviously had a lot on his mind and Sanford was genuinely curious about what it could be. He would very much like to listen to the man’s problems, but it was hard to do so when he could not ask about them.
David's brow furrowed, but a smile quirked at the left corner of his lips. "Thank you," he accepted the offering and popped the jawbreaker into his mouth. "I'm David." he offered, wondering at the man not speaking yet. Maybe he just didn't like to? But he had to say something in response to an introduction, didn't he?
On another note, the jawbreaker was delicious.
Moonlight Avenue | Sanford and David
Sanford Man walked out of the candystore he frequented and out onto the frozen streets of the tiny Maine town. He took a deep breath of the icey air and looked up at the sky mournfully. Sanford always felt like the stars were part of him, or he was part of them. They were his people, silent but shining in the sky never waking the children but always giving them something to wish on, to give their dreams to. He had always imagined they were tiny people holding the deepest desires of the hearts of each person on earth and always keeping them close just in case. He loved the stars. All alone he started to hum something to himself, a tune long forgotten and yet always on his mind. He didn’t know how or where he knew it from but he could always sing it as long as he didn’t concentrate on it too hard.
He was perfectly content humming and walking down the street until he saw another human being. He felt the panic shoot through him that always came with other human beings around him and suddenly his vocal chords couldn’t move as he slid on some ice and right into the man his small bag of candy being dropped to the ground as he fell. He winced and would have screamed if he were able before looking at the other man apologetically.
David was entirely lost in his own thoughts, looking at the sky and trying so hard to remember... but coming up with nothing. Its as if he'd been a person, but had everything inside of him wiped clean. And inside he felt as if that person might be in there, but every time he tried to focus on him the strand of thought or concentration seemed to be severed, and all his energy floated away like a disconnected strand of spider silk.
He was forcefully yanked from his reverie by a person slamming into him. His instincts (yes, he still seemed to have them), had him reach out with a sure hand and catch the bag that they were carrying before it hit the ground, and his other hand reached for the falling person, but their flailing limbs made it impossible to grab them before impact with the ground.
David made a wordless exclamation of surprise and crouched beside the man (for he now could see him clearly). "Are you alright? I am so sorry, I didn't see you." And he hadn't. Guilt flooded through him. Could he make more of a mess of things?
Moonlight Avenue | Open
David had to get out of the house. Outside might be freezing, but it was much better than the awkward silences that pervaded the house he inhabited.
Every passing day he felt more of a stranger in his own skin. Everyone said that time would fix things, but it seemed to have the opposite effect. He bundled up tightly and left the house without even bidding the stranger that was supposed to be his wife goodbye.
He wandered a little outside, wishing that some stars were visible, or at least the moon. He felt an odd kinship with those things. They made much more sense to him than cars and florescent lighting and noise.
A gust of wind blew down main street and he bundled himself closer, wondering if he was the only one mad enough to be out in this weather.
It’s lovely isn’t it? Well when it isn’t falling heavily.
Oh, I... yeah.

Lost in thought || Maria & David
"The twenty will help to buy us lunch. If you were eating alone the twenty itself would pay for your burger, but since there’s two of us it’ll come out to a little bit more than twenty dollars. So keep that in mind if you ever treat a lady to this place." Maria had just finished explaining that bit when the food was placed in front of them. "Well there you go, take a bite of your first burger and be amazed."
David picked the sandwich up, shot Maria a slightly nervous smile, and took a bite.
It was.... interesting. Both crunchy and soft, with several different types of pastes and vegetables that he didn't recognize, nor was he familiar with the meat. He did recognize the bread, though. Thankfully.
He chewed, trying to decide if he liked the dish or hated it. He took another bite to be sure... then another. "It's disgusting, but I can't stop eating it." he decided. "Is that weird?"
