'Oh, these times are hard Yeah, they’re making us crazy Don’t give up on me baby’
I so believe this and the Alice I have in my head as Alice is not the ouatiw Alice, if that makes sense
My heroines

Alice's Tea Party || Maddie & Jefferson
Jefferson leaned in, talking in a hushed voice. “Or perhaps just offer them to Thatcher. He’s not terribly fussy, is he? Do you think we should try?” It was tempting to day the least.
Jefferson tutted, leaning back on his chair. “Now, Alice, how can you know what you prefer if you don’t try? Perhaps you’ll find yourself a better host than I. And perhaps with you hosting, maybe you’ll manage to sip a cup.” The door bell rung, and Jefferson’s eyes shifted from her to the incoming people. It was easy to forget at times he couldn’t keep Alice to himself.. And it was opening day. “I suppose I should let you go,” Jefferson remarked sullenly, taking a sip of his Alice Tea. “I never was one for sharing.. Your tea will go well, Alice. Be proud of what you have created.”
Maddie burst into giggles at the mental image of Thatcher munching on a handful of flowers. It was hilarious, and her over active imagination immediately added a pair of hare ears. "We could!" She didn't think he'd eat them, but seeing her friend's face when offered weeds would be rather amusing.
"Well... perhaps, but The Hatter's party is in Wonderland. Tea or not, I do believe I'd enjoy being there." She countered with a grin. "But- I do like my tea so perhaps I should host a tea party in Wonderland. Now would that be lovely?" Maddie sighted happily, hardly hearing the indication that customers had arrived. She blinked at his words and then glanced to them. "Oh... yes, I suppose I should tend to them..." She gave a sad smile. Finishing off her tea after speaking. "I am. I'm glad you like it. Do be sure you come back for more sometime?" She tilted her head hoping he would. She wanted to hug him again before he left, but was unsure if she should. His arms had felt so comfortable and she was mildly afraid she'd never want to leave them.
When I Look at You || Alice and Grace
"I would never, ever call you a weed. That would be so rude! You’re not a weed, Maddie. You’re… You’re more like a flower. A beautiful flower, not one of the talking kind from Wonderland… at least, not unless there was a talking kind that doesn’t call people weeds, and instead sits down with them and looks at clouds and writes stories… you could that kind of flower, right? I mean… Isn’t anything possible in Wonderland?"
A trusting look beamed from the young girl’s eyes.
Maddie laughed at the girl's comments. "Well I've certainly never met a flower who writes stories, but I do believe all of them look at clouds." She nodded in agreement. "I'm certain they must exist in Wonderland. They have rude flowers, and beautiful flowers. Oh- And bread and butterflies! They must have story tell flowers, don't you think?" The animals could talk, the marsh was made out of marshmallow, and it was always tea time in Wonderland. Anything could happen there.
She wondered what it would be like if she actually could go to Wonderland with Paige and Jefferson like they'd all spoken of.
Wonders, Wanders, & CuriosiTea || Mira & Maddie
"It does taste really good" she said remembering having drank the tea for the first time. Mira loved all of Maddie’s teas and their names fit them extremely well. "Yes, of course we can" she told her walking towards the kitchen, smiling. She knew that Jefferson loved that tea, she knew all of her friends favorite type of teas, it came in handy when your friend happened to be sick or sad and they wanted a cup of their favorite tea. "They’ve been doing better I have to say, I think it must be due to your wonderful teas, they are our best sellers" she said, not telling the Maddie that the shop could be doing better in the money department. Yes, the shop had been busier, but it takes a lot to run a shop.
Maddie beamed, she was really proud of her teas, especially because they shared a theme with her absolute favorite book. She'd taken such care in fitting each tea to the character they were based off of. The strong but complimenting fruity flavors of Cheshire, to the simple and elegant White Queen. Even to the strong, yet quirky Hatter. They were all meant to capture the character's personality and honestly? Maddie felt she'd done so well. And Jefferson's approval only made her that much happier. "Ohhh I..." She blushed. "No, maybe because I based them off Alice in Wonderland, perhaps. But they'll end up looking over the normal teas too... maybe you could start making more based on characters from books!" She giggled. "You know- to go with the rumors of the curse. It'd be absolutely lovely, I think!" She could imagine a tea based off of Beauty and the Beast, immediately likening the beauty to the librarian. And then her mind went off, comparing other towns folk. Oh how she loved her stories.
Getting Ready I Diana and Maddie
Diana knocked on Maddie’s door impatiently, her two dresses in hand. One might wonder why Diana brought two dresses for one party, the reason: she was awful at making decisions. She also carried a bag with her makeup as she and Maddie wore a different shade of fondation (plus sharing makeup is unsanitary). She was excited to get ready for the dance but also nervous. The only reason she was going was Maddie. Frankly, she felt a bit odd seeing as she didn’t have a date but if Maddie needed her then she’d be there for her because thats what best friends do. She took a breath. At last the door was opened.
"Maddie, I need help." She said, making it sound more urgent than it was. "I can’t choose a dress."
Maddie's dress was hung on the back of the door. She smiled at it, a beautiful blue dress that resembled Alice's. It was intentional, of course. She was going with Jefferson, after all. Who wouldn't expect a slight resemblance to Alice in Wonderland between the two of them. She bounded down the stairs to toss open the door when she heard the knock. Knowing it was Diana, she just knew. Maddie tilted her head at the red head's greeting and then laughed. "Come in!" She motioned and as soon as Diana was inside Maddie bounded up the stairs again to her bedroom and bathroom. "Which dresses?" She asked finally when she turned.
Her things were all set out already and she looked like she'd just gotten out of the shower. Though, there were a few pairs of earrings that were set out, she couldn't decide which she liked best... the rest were all down to what she'd chosen to wear. Maddie didn't wear a lot of make up. She had it, her mother made her. And occasionally she would put some on but it was rare. However occasions like this she was certainly planning on wearing it.

Wonders, Wanders, & CuriosiTea || Mira & Maddie
Mira sat at her desk in the small office-like room. She was working on some paperwork for the shop. It was her least favorite part, she preferred to make the tea and deal with customers, but it needed to be done. The room she sat in was half office and half storage. It held extra ingredients, pots, and spoons and such. It was originally all storage, but she made it a make shift office, not liking to bring work home. Home was her sanctuary. She then looked up from the paperwork, hearing what sounded like Maddie calling her name. “Is that so? Well, that’s no good, it’s a best seller. Of course we can” she told her standing up from the desk .
"Yeah, they really seem to like the blueberry/raspberry undertones." She grinned. She was proud of her line. It was doing well. "Perhaps if you've got the time then we could make some of the hatter too? I don't like running out of that one..." She laughed a bit nervously. It was Jefferson's favorite, of course she'd had him in mind when making it,he was the Hatter after all. Even if Maddie believed it all to be just a little running joke between them. She still thought he'd be her idea hatter should she ever have to choose someone to play that role. "Have sales been going up? They seem to be, for my line and for all teas in general... " They'd been a bit busier too which was a pleasant surprise to Maddie. She loved her downtime but seeing the shop do well pleased her.
Wonders, Wanders, & CuriosiTea || Mira & Maddie
Maddie was working the register at the tea shop, her tea line had really taken off and it thrilled her. As the night wore down, customers slowed and Maddison found herself day dreaming. That is-- until she found herself staring at the contents of the Cheshire Cat tea and finding it to be far too empty for her liking. "Mira~" She called in a sing song voice, dipping to the backroom of the shop to get her boss' attention. "We're running low on The Cheshire Cat blend... It's selling so well, do you think we could mix some before we go home tonight?" She could do it herself, but Mira had a patience in making the blend to perfection that Maddie herself did not.
Tweedlethree ~*Paige, Jefferson and Maddie*~
Paige sighed happily, watching the way that Jefferson looked when he spoke about Wonderland, and Alice. Her eyes flashed to her Maddie, their Alice, and her eyes began to sparkle. Yes, they were definitely in love.
It was quiet for a few moments as they all sat in the grass, all thoughts of Easter and Eggs forgotten. “I’d like to go there.” Paige said finally, in a quiet tone so unlike her usual chatter. “I’d like to see Wonderland… and all those other worlds…” she thought it should bother her, leaving home behind, saying goodbye to her parents, but the young girl found the idea more freeing than anything. Traveling with Maddie and Jefferson… as long as she got to come back and visit, she thought that it would be alright. Mother had always said she was too adventuresome for her own good.
Without thinking about it, she grasped Jefferson’s hand in both of hers and began to play with it. Moving the fingers in different positions, tapping or crossing them, tracing the lines of the palm. She was humming, too, something that sounded a bit like a lullaby, though not one that she could quite remember.
"You will," Jefferson assured her, offering a gentle smile. He’d make sure of it. He’d bring them both to Wonderland, no matter the cost. A hand grasped his, causing Jefferson’s attention to return to her. Gentle, soft patters traced carelessly against his palm, the echo of a lullaby hummed from her lips. It was one he knew. One his wife had sung to her all those years ago, and one he himself took up once she passed on… Did she remember? Like Alice and her fleeting moments of clarity in her dreams?
Her tracing Jefferson’s hand was a sign that the end of this reunion was coming to an end. Grace was tired. Turning to Alice, he spoke, “Perhaps it’s time we get our Princess home.” There was a flicker of pain, hating the words. Her home was with him. Not with strangers. He knew he shouldn’t, it hadn’t been their fault, but Jefferson was irrational at times. He didn’t like them, her carers. He spared to sympathy to them when it came to taking back his daughter. But Grace was tired, and that was her home… for now.
Maddie's eyes drifted to the the way Paige played with Jefferson's hand, the one Maddie's own wasn't currently occupying. Her heart felt all funny and weird, and it wasn't just Jefferson, it was the two of them. Watching the way he looked at her and the way it felt to be so near the two of them. It was an odd feeling that Maddie had never experienced before... well that she was aware of. It felt like... home. Like all the pieces of her life that never really fit were fitting in perfectly, just for this brief moment.
But then she started humming, and Maddie's eyes snapped to Paige's face. Her eyes wide in surprise. It was tune she often hummed. One she never could place the origin of. She blinked, her brows knitted as she tried to reason that perhaps it was just a song, a lullaby... like twinkle twinkle little star... right? She mouthed words along, just to see if they would fit. Perhaps it was simply a similar tune. But no-- it was perfectly in sync... Jefferson's voice broke through her thoughts and she smiled and nodded. "Yes, I do believe the little princess ought to get back to her castle. It's getting late."
When I Look at You || Alice and Grace
"But what do I call you?" Paige wondered, biting her left thumb thoughtfully. It seemed like Maddie should have a name that was just as suiting as Paige’s own… Little Mouse, but she just couldn’t think of it. “You should have a special name as well, don’t you think?”
I love you, she thought, but didn’t say. She’d already said it, but it seemed to want to come from her again. And again. Almost like a song, the words ran through her head and tickled her lips over and over, as if a dam had broken forth inside of her and a thousand I love you’s were trying to force themselves into a tiny amount of time. Like they had just been waiting to make themselves heard.
"Well you can call me whatever you wish to call me. As long as you don't call me a weed!" She winked at the young girl, a grin playing over her lips. Knowing that Paige would pick up on her reference. It wasn't a difficult one. But she thought perhaps it would make the girl smile. Something she felt oddly responsible for in the current moment.
Maddie said nothing else but she could see it in the girl's eyes. She wrapped her arms around her and hugged her close for a brief moment. Just a fleeting hug but it was what she needed at that current moment. For reasons the day dreamer had yet to understand... she felt a protective closeness to young Paige that she'd never found in any other child. Sure she liked children, enjoyed talkign to them. Even wanted her own some day. But she'd never felt protective of one. Or wanting to make one smile quite as much as she was wanting to with Paige. Perhaps it was simply because she saw so much of herself in the younger girl and knew what she went through being such an odd young woman.
