There they were, his arms. One of her favorite body parts of his because whenever he picked her up, it felt like magic. âOkay, thatâs very true. Heâs just a stoner who eats pizza, you can take him.â Who was she kidding, Cooper always had her back, no matter what. Physically and mentally. Why was she ever contemplating being with anyone else? He was the one for her and always would be, no more pushing that off to the side. It was time to face all of her real, very real feelings.
âYeah, because, like, I donât want to disappoint you or anything. I canât promise you if I canât follow through.â Cooper was the one person she never wanted to let down. No question about it. He actually believed in her and nothing was going to change that, that feeling was too good to be true. âSo, if like, one morning you wake up for class and Iâm not up, you can wake me up and Iâll go.â That was as much as she could promise, for now. As soon as Cooper began to kiss her, Maddie leaned into the kiss before it quickly ended. âOh, my poor baby!â she exclaimed, showering him in kisses all over his face. âI guess Iâll have to help you remember me,â and just like that her lips found his for a kiss. A much longer kiss, with a buttload of passion behind it.
âYeah, his bodyâs about 70% pizza by now,â he nodded. Edwin had been his best friend since medieval times, and Maddie had always been the princess. Since they were little, there was something so unattainable about her. Her cooties were of the highest grade, and then in middle school, she rose to popularity and dominated everything from that day forward. Meanwhile, Edwin blocked anyone from touching her- figuratively and literally- and Cooper felt like the dopey kid who chased her around, applauding her when she deserved it, and being the shoulder to cry on when she was down. And there they were, away at college together as a trio. Cooper was grateful for how their relationships had evolved into his. Especially his with Maddie.
âYou wonât disappoint me,â he assured her. âThereâs no way thatâs even possible. But you know me, Iâll always be awake in the morning and I will wake you up myself if you want.â He scrunched up his face when she started kissing him all over. âPlea-â he asked innocently, though not so innocent thoughts were clearly racing through his mind. Her lips cut him off, surprising him with their intensity. His hands found their way upward, brushing her hair out of her face and getting tangled up in the strands in the process.
