Of course she knew that he rarely got much sleep. How many nights had they spent in each other’s company after all on sleepless nights back at Hogwarts? The fact that she was able to get some sort of rest, in his bed of all places, was something she didn’t want to dwell on for too long. Merlin forbid she actually admitted to enjoying Theo’s company. “I would actually worry if you did such a thing.” There was a hint of laughter in her voice as she turned on her stomach and supported her weight on her arms; allowing the sheets to slide a little lower along her back. “I won’t overstay my welcome I promise.” Like she hadn’t done just that by spending the night in his bed. She knew better than to ask when they’d see one another again. Such was the beauty of their relationship, or lack of, that they could come and go as they pleased without so much as an explanation. If anything, she worried for the day when or if either one of them wanted something more. Because it would mean revealing insecurities she rarely let anyone else see but herself.

“You already did,” he wanted to say but he kept his mouth shut. He wasn’t in the mood to get into some sort of argument with her. Thought most of them did end up with them in bed together—nothing charged up his drive quite like a challenging sort of person getting into his personal space, forcing him to react—this new...situation prompted him to hold his tongue. What good would it do to comment on the obvious at this point? No sort of good. None at all. So instead he adopted his usual dry tone and said, “I don’t keep my poison in the kitchen. If I were to do you off, I’d pick a better way.” But he knew that wasn’t what she was getting at. He didn’t want to touch on what she was getting at. It was better to keep things simple. Well, as simple as they could be considering the tides had already changed due to her being there. He wasn’t unaware to that fact. Still, as the sheets fell down a little lower, the positive side to their situation became all the more enticing to him. “So long as you prove yourself useful, I can push how long the welcome offer stands.”

Asking or stating, he’s not sure what he’s doing really. The only thing he does know for sure is that he doesn’t want time to run out, even if he can’t find a way to word that so it doesn’t embarrass him any further. 

Neville suspects, though, that Nott is enjoying taking his time, so maybe he doesn’t need to think any more about that. Or that he just admitted he wouldn’t mind a snog with him. That’s probably something he shouldn’t mention anywhere to anyone, for more than one reason.

If they ever get to it. This is pretty close but not quite it.

The sight of red blossoming on Longbottom’s cheeks almost threw Theo for a loop. Almost. He’d become a master at keeping a tight hold on his emotions and training his facial expressions to mimic such hold came along with it. Whether it was due to the proximity or his answer, Theo wasn’t entirely sure but he accepted it nonetheless. The sight of the blush alone made Theo’s smirk get wider, if that were even possible. Any minute he’d surely resemble a cheshire cat.

“Good answer, Longbottom. Hurry it up next time, though. I do have other things to do.” Just to add insult to injury he waited a little bit longer before finally closing the gap between them, His hand curled tighter around Longbottom’s tie as he ducked his head and kissed the other boy. It was a chaste sort of kiss at first as if to test the waters, but then as the seconds ticked by he brought his free hand up to the back of Longbottom’s neck and pulled him closer and kissed him harder. And he was surprised to find how soft and warm and tempting the Gryffindor’s lips were.

“Hmm.” She hummed. Not sounding entirely too convinced by what he’d said. At the end of the day it would say more about him than her if he ran around sleeping with people that were unattractive. “Oh. Right. I think I might’ve seen you out in the wild a time or two.” Izzy was accustomed to a tryst here and there. The whole spending the night thing though… that was an entirely new development. “I could use some more sleep,” she admitted. Despite the fact that the question had taken her aback she was reluctant to show it. She averted her gaze and turned her attention elsewhere. “How about you? Elephant snoring aside.”

“Any way to ensure I can actually get peace and quiet.” He nearly snorted. Quiet he could probably achieve but peace he’d never get. Because of his name. Because of his house. Because of his legacy. One he never asked to be born into but had no choice in accepting. It was the only way he could make it out alive. At least he wasn’t trapped behind walls. At her comment it was his turn to hum. “I don’t get much sleep anyway, didn’t notice a difference.” Staying on this level was fine, easier to accept, stuck to the status quo. And yet she was still there and that was a starkly different outcome than usual. “Don’t expect me to make you anything.” Considering I never expected you to stay. But that was Izzy for him, always doing something against his wishes. To poke and prod and do what she wanted. It got easier to just let her go than try and stop her. He became used to it. Like a permanent thorn in his side,

If he hadn’t been so at loss for words, he might have expressed himself with a surprised ‘oh!’ or something, but as it is, he’s got nothing. Which is not necessarily a no, now that he thinks about it. He’s not… Opposed, exactly, to being kissed by him. The thought is more intriguing, it has him wondering what it’d feel like. Would? Will?

It takes a second to deny having any objection, now that he’s fully informed of what’s going to happen, though he’s not so sure he gets the why of him being the one getting kissed, “I don’t–”

The longer the Gryffindor was silent the higher Theo’s eyebrow rose. Certainly it wasn’t possible for someone to ponder the thought this long. If they wanted to, that was fine, but if there was a declination at least he could say something.

Granted, he was aware how...odd the situation was. The two of them, of all people, hiding away in the shadows by his own hand and his own choice. He couldn’t exactly put his finger on why he chose Longbottom of all people but...a snog was a snog. And, truthfully, he got a little thrill seeing the expression on the other’s face. Knowing that he had the upper-hand in the situation put a smirk on his face. And so he leaned closer, noses almost touching as he said, “Tick-tock, Longbottom.” His long fingers curled around the scarlet and gold tie that hung between them and gave it a tug, pulling him closer.

Her body was still in severe need of sleep. “Good thing I’m pretty then.” She mumbled, turning to face him while inconspicuously trying to make herself comfortable. “When have you gotten to hear an elephant snore?” She asked sleepily. A little too tired to bother with arguing this early in the day.

“That’s up for debate.” His eyes roamed over her frame, down the slope of her bare back and up to her sleep-tousled hair. “Believe it or not, I do actually like to go outside,” Theo replied. It probably wasn’t the answer she wanted but at least he had one. And, besides, it was a pointless topic of conversation though a safe one. Because then they didn’t have to talk about what happened the previous night. And he didn’t have to comment on how she had picked up a few new moves that left him wondering when exactly they had last done this and when they’d do it again. “How’d you sleep?” Not that he cared but...well.

"Did you know you snore? You’d give elephants a run for their money.” It probably wasn’t the most tactful thing to utter first thing in the morning, especially after what they got up to only a few hours ago. But considering whose legs his were still entwined with, the ease of which the rasp-filled statement fell out of his mouth didn’t surprise him.
