i suck at tagging. i pretty much fast reblog everything so any tags have to be added as an edit after the fact. posting is not even a little bit regular. i dont use my queue and do continuously reblog things whenever i'm feeling them.

Hi! There will not be a major Wolffe POV in WOAT. I do write a lot of side stories and Wolffe does have an unfinished side story! I've already posted what I have of it here. I've been surprised that there's so many calls for both a Wolffe and a Bacara POV, so I'll keep that in mind for side stories.

Honestly, I decided on "Wolffe and the wolfpack jump ship" in like 2021 and in retrospect, considering the rest of the worldbuilding I've established about how incredibly rare it is for a clone to actually decide to fuck off, having 600 of them do it sounds crazy. I wanna say that it's not a choice I would make again. But also I can't see them doing anything else? Like literally what member of the wolfpack would ever turn against Plo?! I should have thought a bit harder about it, but there really just is no in-character decision for Wolffe and the Wolfpack to betray Plo.

there’s a specific kind of stupidity to the deception arc when you remember that obi-wan’s the commanding officer of the open circle fleet, which is apparently the majority of the republic’s navy and includes the task forces of most major jedi generals including yoda, like obi-wan’s not just the jedi general of the 212th, he’s everyone else’s commanding officer. in terms of the GAR he’s supposed to outrank most jedi generals we see on the show, including several other jedi masters on the council, it’s a position that’s a lot closer to darth vader’s supreme commander of the imperial military bullshit than it is, like, anakin just being the general of the 501st legion.

obi-wan, for all intents and purposes, is their war. he’s the dude organizing what’s clearly their most powerful forces, and they intentionally let him be the one to very publicly die, like that wouldn’t be a major opportunity for the separatists to take advantage of the confusion? my going theory about the clone wars is that almost no one knew what they were doing if they couldn’t email obi-wan about it, but obi-wan can’t answer 5,000 emails in a day, and that’s why every decision everyone made is garbage cans

One day, in the midst of Obi-Wan’s fifteenth year of life, he woke up with the conviction that something terrible was going to happen, and the feeling never left.

He had grown used to that feeling. It had come more and more frequently over the past three years, and he had long since stopped telling people or making a big deal of it. What was he supposed to say? ‘Oh, Master, I think we’re going to be put in a near-death situation sometime next week?’. Nobody gave a shit. Magical feelings of omnipresent doom weren’t that impressive when literally everybody had them. When the doom was omnipresent.

But this was different. This was really different. Obi-Wan wasn’t just certain that something dangerous or awful was going to happen - he felt as if there was some great catastrophe on the horizon.

First hour I've had at my computer in like five days and I have just BARELY posted it in time. This is for YOU. It is DEPRESSION.

They pulled Rex out of class.

The supervisor paused his flash training module for him, simultaneously making his head spin and convincing him that they were under attack. But the supervisor just informed him that the Batch Supervisor wanted to speak with him, so leave immediately and return post-haste.

The other cadets didn’t stare at Rex as he slipped out of his seat, but that was just because they were too focused on their flash training. Rex didn’t want to see the looks they would have given him - or, worse, the way they would have avoided looking at him - but he couldn’t help but want them to notice he was leaving.

This is the clone POV of the Obi-Wan story. We're finally going to see why the 501st was Like That, what Cody was ACTUALLY thinking and feeling, and how deep the rot goes.

This isn't the most fucked up story (I do think we came out strong and swinging with Obi-Wan in that one, but Neyo, Boba, and Zero Hour get very honorable mentions) but I do personally consider it the most. Grotesque? What happens in this one is grotesque. It's just...evil.

For the returning readers: this one has scenes from the original Rex story but it is GREATLY expanded.

No such thing as irritating. No such thing as a comment that is too long or rambly. I am glad that the 48 chapters is exciting because I personally found it insane. Nobody who writes 470k worth of an AU series sits down and writes the entire thing beforehand. Who am I.

Anakin just isn't mature. He's, like, 20 or 21. Fantastic older brother figure. Is definitely doing a great job teaching Obi-Wan how to punch things. I think it's...like, it's okay to be a dumb college student who's not mature enough to be in charge of a whole-ass child. There's an actual very specific reason unique tot his AU why he's so disengaged from the Jedi, which we'll find out next chapter. In an ideal situation that's, like, fine. He would be a perfectly good master if there was, hypothetically, a competent adult in the room. Obi-Wan Kenobi is busy being a baby, so there is no competent adult in the room. All you have is Qui-Gon. Who is. Qui-Gon.

It's cool how you picked up on that note about Qui-Gon, because that was pretty much the backstory that I eventually developed in my head and never mentioned. Qui-Gon is an extremely knowledgeable scholar on very obscure aspects of the Force and its religions - which means he believes in some woo-woo and conspiracyish stuff which he insists is just Hidden Knowledge TM. He's one of THOSE hippies/wiccas/White Buddhists TM. He doesn't have the time or the inclination to focus on teaching.

But he IS one of the top five duelists in the Order, and he's frequently asked to temporarily take on senior padawans who have martial talent but outgrew the skill their current masters. He DOES teach, but he tends to casually teach a) 17yos+ and b) dueling skills and/or specialized Force knowledge. This was Feemor. I think teen!Xanatos asked Qui-Gon to teach him, Qui-Gon hated his vibes and said no, and Xanatos stormed off. [MILD SPOILERS] He took on 15yo Anakin as a favor to Ahsoka, so it was more of a full-time padawanship than he'd ever had, but he was still a full teenager by the time that they met. He's never. Dealt with. Just. An 7th grader. So: you're actually completely correct, that's exactly what's happening. I felt the need to tell you all of this because I never say it in the story at all, whatsoever.

Essential to Obi-Wan Kenobi is him existing to cause problems. He's well-intentioned and good-natured, but his protagonist disease is terminal and he's a walking Situation. He will get involved in everyone else's problems and make everything worse before solving them. Entering dangerous situations is compulsive and uncovering mysteries is his hobby. OK now imagine he's 13. And sad and lonely and bored. Cody's life is hell.
