i’m sad over losing mickey. but tbh, i won’t miss any of the other characters, at least in their current form. because in s5 the writers so completely assassinated all of them, made them so cold, terrible, selfish, and unfeeling, that they aren’t even the same characters we all loved. fiona is basically a combination of frank and monica who neglects her responsibilities and her family. debbie is a rapist and predator. ian is cruel and abusive. lip is…well lip is lip, but it’s gotten old. carl is a juvenile delinquent minus any of the humanizing qualities and stories that he used to have. i mean what are we losing really? does anyone really want to watch more of this? more of your favorite characters becoming more and more unlikable? there’s nobody left on this show to root for. and for what? because the shameless writers think it’s amusing or something. i’m afraid they’re going to find out rather quickly that when you make all of your characters unlikable, the audience has very little reason to remain engaged.
