They can tamper with our politics and our economics.. they can even shoot our sons dead right in our villages. They can deny us good schools and hospitals for our young... these are terrible things... terrible terrible things.. But if they invoke our ancestors in vain and insult them by moving them from their humble resting places. Its like we never existed.. they would erase the living memories of our people who have left us.. they would render us bastardized. It seems they would want our children to forget that those lands were ever ours. We read about how the Spanish and the Porteugese destroyed the ancient nations of South America.. We read about how the British destroyed the ancient nations of Australia Even in our own history, we know about how the Queen's Governor, the Catechists and the LMS burned our ancestors' ornaments and implements of warfare both seen and unseen. Call me a fool but what Im seeing is the systematic deletion of my people and our heritage. Im seeing a soft war waged on our future. The Nazis wanted not just to kill all jews but to wipe out their culture completely. Their art, their music, the remnants of their ancestors and their assets and achievements. The ledger of the powers that be drip red with the blood of the motuan people. We have given up so much already for this city. How much more? I ask. To the leaders who have betrayed us.
