“You’re my best friend you know.”
Nova looked over at him silent for a moment before breaking a small smile. “Really?”
Nova cuddles up to Luke. "We could've watched fire works on tv," she pointed out. "Instead of coming out here... it's kinda cold."
He glanced down at her and grunted softly. Luke wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him. “Told you to bring a blanket or something.” He told her. “Fireworks don’t look as good on tv as they do outside.” He reasoned
“Well, you could have brought another to keep you warm.” He pointed out. He leaned away and shrugged off his jackets and draped it over her shoulders. “There. Now you won’t catch hypothermia.” He told her, wrapping his arm around her once more. “Fireworks should be starting soon.”
“Thanks, but now you’re gonna be the one getting cold,” Nova smiled. She curled up to him again leaning her head against his shoulder. Just as she got all cozy comfortable against Luke a red firework shot up and exploded in the sky. “Happy Fourth of July, babe.”
Nova cuddles up to Luke. "We could've watched fire works on tv," she pointed out. "Instead of coming out here... it's kinda cold."

Nova let her self relax against Luke. “I did bring a blanket, it’s what we’re sitting on.” she laughed. She looked up at the dark sky, the fire works had not yet started. “I guess you have a point though.”
He hadn’t expected the sudden spike of fear and he supposed he should have. “Okay, I’ll put you on speaker, just… hold on.” Swears softly as he glances at the phone for a moment and wonder why the hell he’s never invested in a damn blue tooth. Promises himself he will after this as he finally gets the phone on speaker. “All right. Your on speaker, Nova. just sit tight. I’m almost there, okay? And I think Kevin will understand if food is a little late. Let’s get you safe first? We can argue about it later.” He pushed the speed limit a little more, figuring he could make her location in about another ten if he lucked out and didn’t get stopped.
“Thanks,” Nova said almost meekly. She sighed. “I know he’d understand but, I just... Sam, he doesn’t exactly eat well or frequently. I don’t think he even heard that I was going for food. I’m pretty certain he’s just started saying ‘okay’ to everything I say as a reflex. I just... I dunno want him to be okay- I don’t I’ve ever heard you swear this much.” Nova looked out a near by window at a street light. She thought to herself about walking out to it, surely it would be easier for Sam to get her if she were there. But he told her to keep hidden, so she stayed put. “I can literally hear how fast your speeding, Christ, be careful.”
“Nova, how about I lay eyes on you and make sure the bleeding isn’t more serious before we talk about getting food, okay?” He was pushing the speed limit, wanting to get to her as quickly as he could. He wasn’t sure if it was the head wound or her not taking this seriously but it didn’t ease his mind that she tossed out the ‘maybe it just needed some blood’ like it wasn’t a big deal. “We don’t know who snatched you or why. I’d rather not make any assumptions just yet. Just… stay safe, I’m coming to you. Don’t move and keep your phone on. I’m gonna hang up so I can focus on the road. Call me back if anything or anyone shows up.”
“I told Kevin I’d be back with food though,” Nova said sadly. She took her hand off her head for a moment and looked down at the blood on the sleeve. “I don’t think my head’s that bad.” She pulled her sleeve up to her elbow when Sam mentioned hanging up. Nova went wide eyed and clenched her jaw. “C-can’t you just put me on speaker instead?” She really didn’t want to have to sit in silence in the dark warehouse alone, sure she was doing that right now but at least with Sam on the phone she had someone to pretend she wasn’t scared for.
His laptop pinged her location as she talked and some of the tension settled when he recognized the area at least. “Okay, look. I’m heading out as we talk.” He shouldered the phone as he hastily shoved the laptop in his messenger bag. “Just… sit tight. Keep talking to me.” He wasn’t sure how bad her head was. Head wounds bled like a bitch even when they weren’t bad. But on the off chance she had a concussion, the longer he could keep her talking the better. “I think I can make it in half an hour.” He was startled he was the first contact in her phone. And if he was less worried he might have been flattered and touched. “Is there someplace you can sit, not obviously in the open?”
“Uh.. yeah, yeah there’s a corner by the door I’ll sit at.” She said walking, more like stumbling over and sitting down. She was silent a moment, thinking but also keeping an ear on her surroundings. Then she remembered Sam wanted her to keep talking. “Maybe it was a demon or something. Maybe it just needed some blood.” she realized that wasn’t a conversation that she wanted to have. “After you get me we can still go get food for me Kevin and Jenna right?”
He swore softly and vehemently even as he was pulling his laptop out. Glad now he’d had the GPS tracking software installed. “Keep talking to me. Are you alone?” He didn’t waste time asking her what happened. If her head was bleeding the odds were someone -or something- had blitz attacked her and head wounds scrambled recollection. He should know.
“Did you try calling anyone else?” He swallowed down the panic that wouldn’t do either of them any good and wondered if she’d been gone long enough for anyone else to notice she was gone. He wasn’t far from the Bunker, true, but that didn’t mean a whole lot. “Dean? Jenna? C’mon, Nova, talk to me…”
Nova was quiet for a moment, listening intently to her surroundings. “I think so? I don’t hear anyone or anything around?” She said pulling her sleeve over her hand and holding it to her head. She winced a little as she touched the wound. “Uh no, I don’t think i’ve been gone long,” Nova looked down at her phone. “It’s only been half an hour, it usually takes me an hour to walk into town get food and get back... and no, I just called you. You’re the first contact in my phone.”
@rosesxnxvodka liked for a starter:
“Nova, slow down. Where the hell are you?”
Getting the call with a fairly freaked out Nova on the other end of the line was not a great addition to a day that had already gone all kinds of wrong. And while he’d finished the case and killed the vamp he had gotten pretty banged up in the process. Not to mention he’d thought Nova was safe at the Bunker.
Nova was a little panicked. That was probably and understatement. She’d left to get food for her, Jenna and Kevin, and while she was walking she blacked out and ended up here. Where was here? Sam wanted to know. Nova looked around, her vision somewhat hazy, from tears or stress who knew?
“I uh... i think it’s a warehouse, I think...” she said. She put her hand to her throbbing head. Pulling it away she looked down at the warm liquid on her fingers. “M-my head is bleeding.”

"I like you," Nova sleepily mumbled as she leaned her head on Josh's shoulder.
“Like like me like me, or just… like me?” Josh teased, looking down at the top of Nova’s head. He slunk an arm behind her, fingers lodged into the meatier portion of her upper arm. Caressing her, humming softly.
Nova turned her head, nuzzling her face into Josh’s shoulder at his teasing tone. “I dunno... both, I guess?” She muttered. Her body tensed as she realized what she had just said out loud. She waited, silently for his reaction.
“movies are made for watching, not for asking questions.”
“I have no idea what’s going on!”
Hey Josh, have you ever thought about Nova while you're, y'know... alone?
“Joke’s on you, I’m never alone. Got the thought of her to keep me company.” Josh winks, eyebrows raising to enhance the innuendo of his previous statement.
“I don’t get it,” Nova confessed as she sat next to Josh.
Nova curled up next to Josh nuzzling her way under his arm so it would be around her. "Hey Josh? You awake?" she whispered.
A barely registered smile tics across Josh’s dry mouth; sleepy eyes still crusted over, but able to open partway. His fingers lightly squeeze Nova’s upper arm. “Being dead inside never qualifies me as awake, Sunshine. You should know that by now.”
Josh snickered. “Can’t help that my cold internal temperature requires more warmth than the average human being to survive.” He stroked Nova’s tricep, the pads of his digits proving that his external temperature was no different. “I’m just talking the only way I know how, sugar.”
Nova gave a little shiver as Josh’s cold fingers caressed her arm. “I know, I just wish I could make you feel better.” The brunette said quietly. “Since you’re awake now will you at least share the blanket with me?”

“You should know that I hate when you talk like that,” Nova pouted. She snuggled into the young man. “I’m cold, you hogged the blankets again.”
“That’s how most people tend to win, yeah.” He laughed as the first round began and he immediately began to attack.
“Alright then,” Nova said. She began to mash buttons, a few she realized what they did, others like blocking and such, she’d need a few rounds to find out which button did them. But for the most part she did pretty good and managed to take out Adam’s character on the first round with little to no problem. “Oh fuck yeah. I like this game.”
“You shouldn’t. Trust me, that kid is evil when it comes to Mario maker.” Adam warned her. He grabbed the game and handed her a controller. “Alright, here ya go.” He turned on the tv and started up the game.
“So the only thing i have to do to play this is mash buttons right?” Nova asked as they selected their characters on the screen.
