The four countries with the highest rates of living alone are Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark, where roughly 40 to 45 percent of all households have just one person. By investing in each other’s social welfare and affirming their bonds of mutual support, the Scandinavians have freed themselves to be on their own.

So the question then becomes “So where the fuck do all these shippers disappear to when a black guy enters the room?”

Debbie Jellinsky is like the ultimate embodiment of fashionable misandry
Oh yeah, marrying wealthy bachelors just to murder them and inherit their fortunes because you have no talents or methods of making a living for yourself to speak of — another very seemly idol for a misandrist.
Actually, yes, you are a misogynist and a male apologist.
It’s been at least a year or two since the last time I saw the movie, and even I remember that she did have skills of her own, as well as hobbies and pursuits.
That’s part of her fucking slideshow of murder. The men in her life consistently ignored her and treated her as an object.
From her father, to her first husband and subsequent husbands.
She was, as an image, and a character, a rejection of the role of Trophy Wife;
So yeah, totally appropos heroine for misandry.
You know how misogynists need women to be around to degrade and overpower all the time? It seems like misandrists need men just as much. But in this crazy person’s case, it seems like she not only needs men to degrade in order to feel whole, but also needs their money and their beauty products.
And omg what?
She’s not “crazy” (which, can we spend a minute to unpack how I HATE HATE HATE how often that term is leveled specifically at female killers, especially female serial killers; the majority of whom are responding, at least initially, to some sort of violence, whether it be economic, physical, psychological, or other forms of abuse). She is neglected. By the time she lands on the Addams and Fester, she’s had all the proof she needs that men only see her as an object and a commodity for their gratification.
It’s not incidental that she starts out as the Au Pair character. That is like the epitome (in a family-friendly sense) of the commodified woman. She’s expected to have no attachments, except to the family she works for. Domestic workers in general, are expected to be open and available to their male employers. The fact that she actively pursues Fester (as opposed to being pursued by the Man of the House, Gomez) is a direct reaction to the period’s glut of Babysitter movies (I think in the vicinity of this movie there were at least three or four, and that’s what I can think of off the top of my head).
Oh, and remind me again what’s wrong with wanting objects of beauty and beauty products in your life?
I’m sick and tired of self-care and materiality (note, these things only come into play when we’re talking about Femme presenting women, and don’t even get me started on how we treat these things when they’re exhibited by non-white Femme women) being scapegoated as proof that a woman is somehow frivolous or unworthy of respect.
Because…I mean…really?
That’s like the most juvenile thing.
She wants some pretty goddamned things in her life and she deserves it.
Just waiting for her immediate accusations of, “Male apologist! Misogynist!” right about now. She’s kinda like a Republican in many ways. You know how they don’t hesitate to scream bloody murder “socialism!” on things like Obamacare? Yeah, there are very strong similarities here. (read: ignorance).
And you know what, I just don’t even know what to do with this last bit.
There are words. And a vaguely coherent sentence structure. But….they don’t make sense when you put them together.
In fact, I would almost swear this paragraph alone undermines your previous two, except you say you’re preparing to be called out, so …I mean…I’ll happily oblige, but you make no sense.
Short version: You’re wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.
And you’re totally missing the point. You’re missing it so hard, I can only presume that you’re doing it intentionally.
During the first season or two of Roseanne, Roseanne Barr was treated horribly by the producers, who wanted to get rid of her, even though she was the creative genius behind the show, which was based entirely on characters she had developed. She went with “success is the best revenge,” working extra hard to make sure the show hit the #1 spot, knowing at that point she could seize creative control. She hung out with the crew and supportive cast members (including John Goodman, who flat refused to do the show without her), and put a list on her door. That list had the name of every single person who worked on the show. When they pissed her off, she’d cross off their name in red. Everyone in red was to be fired the second she was in charge. She took this policy from Machiavelli, and she made good on it. Her first move was to fire everyone who had tried to shut her down. She also promoted a number of women writers and fired a number of men writers for being sexist. So, this shirt is no lie.
Social skills: noticing when repetition is communication
So there’s this dynamic:
Autistic person: The door is open!
Other person: I *know* that. It’s hot in here.
Autistic person: The door is open!
Other person: I already explained to you that it’s hot in here!
Autistic person: The door is open!
Other person: Why do you have to repeat things all the time?!
Often when this happens, what’s really going on is that the autistic person is trying to communicate something, and they’re not being understood. The other person things that they are understanding and responding, and that the autistic person is just repeating the same thing over and over either for no reason or because they are being stubborn and inflexible and obnoxious and pushy.
When what’s really happening is that the autistic person is not being understood, and they are communicating using the words they have. There’s a NT social expectation that if people aren’t being understood, they should change their words and explain things differently. Sometimes autistic people aren’t capable of doing this without help.
So, if this is happening, assume it’s communication and try to figure out what’s being communicated. If you’re the one with more words, and you want the communication to happen in words, then you have to provide words that make communication possible. For example:
Other person: Do you want the door to be closed, or are you saying something else?
Autistic person: Something else
Other person: Do you want to show me something outside, or something else?
Autistic person: Something else
Other person: Are you worried about something that might happen, or something else?
Autistic person: Worried
Other person: Are you worried that something will come in, or that something will go out?
Autistic person: Baby
Other person: She’s in her crib, and the baby gate is up. Is that ok, or is there still a problem?
Autistic person: ok

MISANDRY!
I find myself loving this gif the more I look at it:
Homegirl in the red has just got a damn good form. She’s making sure to get those kidney shots in from two different angles.
Blue just has a very clean set of strikes, she gets in both the head shot and the shoulder with economy of motion. She’s done this before.
And Blondie has a fucking tetsubo. I mean, the other two have training weapons, but she came equipped with a literal medieval weapon and not the one that’s romanticized or seen as the mark of nobility, but the straight up ass beater.
I can’t stop laughing and the commentary.
