This is awesome; so many updated taxonomies and new discoveries reflected over a century on this one label. This Galapagos tortoise subspecies - the Charles Island variety - is known from skeletal specimens such as this one, which was found after the animal fell into a lava tube and perished. (at The Field Museum)
i know its supposed to be like social list but did anyone think this through
organize the things you love, like the economy
collaborate in the workplace
Planet Earth is this solid thing you are standing on right now. In your everyday life you don’t really waste a thought about how amazing this is. A giant, ancient, hot rock. How did it come into existence and how big is it really? You will be surprised. The ground you are standing on is just a very, very small part of the big picture.
I took a stab at colouring the CIV leader sketches. I didn’t thought it would work since the canvas is kind of small, but gladly I absolutely loved the process! I try to follow the background and scheme from CIV V, if suitable. Isabella’s background was The Alhambra I believe.
Please be patient with me with the other ones though, they might not come around so quickly (so many things I want to draw! and perhaps I want to upload them in batches)
bucketofsmiles I TOTALLY SUPPORT THIS!
TFIOS

Book covers come to life:John Green’s books (4/4)
"…it’s economics, and religion, and psychology, and anthropology, and astronomy, and physics and ecology and literature. That’s the great thing about history, you can’t put the past into little boxes that you study for fifty minutes a day until the bell rings. You can’t separate what happened from what people wanted and believed and valued."

Oh Tumblr…your nostalgia is adorable.
The carbon animation from Starstuff and Nanodiamonds, wherein Emily holds the oldest, smallest diamonds known to humankind.
This is mesmerizing.
So much carbon

Here’s PHD Comics with a great explanation of the HUUUUGE physics news this week.
I keep having TFIOS epiphanies. This one involved turning the clouds into a Venn diagram, and then having the overlap in the shape of infinity.
And you can’t not make that.
