On Nov 8th, The America I called home died.

On Nov 8th, The America I called home died. I am an African American woman who grew up through the civil rights, anti-war, women's liberation, gay rights and the Americans with disabilities Act , Roe V Wade and on to the first black president. These were signs that maybe America could eventually live up to its promise of a truly egalitarian society. With this election , I know that is no longer possible. What used to be America is now for me a place of fear and mistrust. I feel sad and alienated and will have to reroute my path in the face of this debacle that has befallen my country.
