The internal political and social dynamics of Serbia, dictated by both dominant political tribes, keep it moving further away from membership in the European Union, and tightly in the grip of authoritarianism, superstition, revanchism, and nationalism, closely aligned to Russia and China.
Serbian eighth graders celebrated their last day of school. Scenes of them parading around with anti-Western and nationalist iconography and chants could be seen all across the country. It isn't a new development - such attitudes have been common and socially acceptable for four decades now.
Here we have school kids chanting the name of Ratko Mladić, a Bosnian Serb general convicted of war crimes (downtown Belgrade). Mladić is considered a hero amongst the more nationalist inclined Serbs.
One of the reasons for the enduring popularity of the government of Serbia (which most people erroneously keep referring to as "Vučić") is the procurement of new Chinese and Russian weapons - air defense, drones, missiles, attack helicopters. Pointing it out is not damaging to Progressives - to the Serbian electorate, it is a praise of the highest order.
The Defence Ministry of Romania confirmed that the drone that hit the apartment building in Galați came from Russia. Two people were slightly injured, and about 70 residents were evacuated.
Peak Serbia - a 40-year-old tramcar went off the rails in Old Town, Belgrade, and rammed itself into a sports betting and gambling parlor operating in a space rented from the Serbian Orthodox Church, leaving 20 people injured.

Russia reportedly struck Kyiv Oblast with an Oreshnik intercontinental ballistic missile. Ukraine's monitoring channels have reported that Russia has likely used its Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile on Bila Tserkva in Kyiv Oblast. This system is designed to release up to six individual warheads at hypersonic speeds, which then fall and strike separate targets independently. The city's residents report hearing a loud, "unusual" blast, followed by several "smaller" explosions. They described it as the sound of metal, scattering across the air. This happened during a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. Russia launched at least 16 missiles on the Ukrainian capital, SK monitoring channel reports. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian intelligence, citing data shared by US and European partners, informed him that Russia was preparing a combined strike against Ukraine, including the third operational use of the "Oreshnik" intermediate-range ballistic missile with Kyiv among the likely targets.

When it comes to Serbia, the foreign commentariat remains as clueless and manipulative as ever. Apart from getting most things about Serbian society and politics wrong, they also echo, without filter and sometimes with a lot of sympathy, the vicious and harmful dominant local nationalist ideology.
Protesters gathered in Belgrade on Wednesday to call for a boycott of the Eurovision Song Contest over Israel’s participation. The demonstration took place in front of the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) building, where participants urged Serbia to withdraw from the song contest.

In the aftermath of the Hungarian election, the Serbian ruling coalition and its commentariat have engaged in yet another internationally embarrassing shouting match against The Planet, more precisely Peter Magyar and the Secretary General of the European Democratic Party, Sandro Gozi.
In another episode of "The AI is NOT taking your job", robot boxers were seen throwing punches that failed to connect during a match in eastern China. On April 6, the humanoid fighters swung wildly as the crowd watched the unusual fight unfold. So, the first rule of robot fight club is...no one wins?
