Even though Lottie had lived in America off and on since she was eighteen there were so many things that she didn’t understand and probably never would. Like why was their bread so sweet? Why did they have a whole room dedicated to doing laundry? And why did they have free refills when it came to their drinks? Also why were they so obsessed with pumpkin flavoring in the fall? Honestly it just made everything taste way too sugary for her liking. Taking a bit of her ice cream, she glanced at the person sitting next to her on the bench. “If I asked you a question about Americans would you be able to answer it without judging me too harshly?” @catalinastarter
While he was considering the old ‘should I stay or should I go’, he was working out a little more than usual. This particular morning, there was an issue with his running shoe that led to him sitting on a bench and, eventually, getting lost in his thoughts. He was pulled from them by a lightly accented, not entirely unpleasant voice though he hadn’t even realized another person was there.
“Judgment free isn’t my specialty, but I can try,” he said, his voice rough from lack of use. His next question curdled a little on his tongue before it exited his mouth, not used at all to these types of questions. “What’s bothering you?”
