This weekend has certainly gotten me to think; those tragedies could’ve just as easily occurred here in the #RGV. I certainly felt serious contempt towards the people that caused so much pain & suffering to others & even began to feel hatred for them & their ‘kind’. But I’m wrong, I should not give into hate; #hateistheenemy. Though MLKs quote has been overly used, it rings so true to me. We cannot beat hate with more hate; it’s how the saying goes: “an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind”. It is a cycle that never ends. No to racism, period. No to hatred, period. The only way to stop hatred from further dividing us & hurting us is by being self-aware. So, please be self-aware, share your thoughts & feelings with friends & family. Do not give into hate, do not let it fool you. Hate weighs more than cement, so why carry it with you? I pray that there is healing & for the souls that have been lost, & for peace, respect & comprehension/understanding amongst the people of the world. Because, yes, we’re all children of this planet.
