So she would.
Phalanges so thin and delicate in comparison to the strength marking veins in an upturned wrist a bright blue as respiration and pulse continued on in a sense of normalcy for him, and him alone. Her touch reached out, was offered, given so freely to the child whom reminded her so sweetly of one that once had curiously inquired as to what was within the ether of this place. This flowing stream, depthless lake, an open sea and sky of its continuance that flared out and marked everything it touched. She would reach for him, and linger right before him, everything about them spinning as furiously as a spider as they sped so far, far away from where his body lay. Deeper and deeper into the footsteps of those before, unwinding the clock that would never give out.
Images would flash now, around this stream, sapphire windows bared as Nullum let her Reality of Time move closer to the one he would know more accurate. Surroundings had changed, sunlight so merry as a family passed near by. Something so normal, so surreal almost, the man holding his daughter’s hand as he and his wife swung the exuberant boy by his grasp on them both. It was something from a story book, something told by the wrinkled and sweet elders who sat in rocking chairs and thought of the days before the Darkness; the days that their grand parents told them their great grand parents had once lived within. A place of Light, Balance, and more importantly than anything else — Kingdom Hearts.
“To a place where you shall understand.”
If this was a dream, it had to be the most exquisite that Isa had ever dreamed. Never had he ever thought he’d see such a thing. It took moments for the passing imagines to imprint on his mind and he realized what he was looking at, although he was still lost as to what was happening, and what Nullumn had to be up to. What he was looking at – he didn’t know. Was he supposed to be paying attention? Was the journey the message she was trying to show him, or would it be the destination? His pale hand tightened around the one that was extended to him. He was not afraid, no. There was no need for that. Nullumn was powerful and trustworthy. Isa had faith in her ability to keep him safe, especially when he was just his Heart; she was the only form of protection he had. He doubted he would even be able to summon Moonlight to assist him. Especially if this did just prove to be a manifestation of a dream.
Time unwound all around him, and as his eyes hurried to try to see these passing images, he looked back to the being that was bringing him here. The sight of the family made Isa’s Heart long for his own, for a moment like what they were sharing. But Isa was too old for that, and thus, to he it would always be a fairy tale. They looked, happy. Isa could remember what that was like, to be happy, carefree, so full of light there was no need to be fearful of the Darkness. He closed his eyes briefly, before he looked back at the form. “And what is it,” he wondered aloud, speaking so softly it was as if he feared his voice would shatter their surroundings. “You want me to understand?”
