It's Official

Guys it's time to make it official.  This Myka is dead.  I just don't feel her anymore.  The reason I know this is that while I was working on a rewatch  of the first season yesterday a new Myka, fresh and completely unattached to all the emotions I felt when the show went down, started to emerge.

So I made a new account, because this one's going to remain so that we don't lose all the awesome rps on it.  I'll be taking things slowly but if you're interested she's over here.  Thank you all for sticking around this long, and happy rping.

A Fresh Start || HG and Myka (number1agent)

Helena followed the sound of Myka’s voice to the study. She didn’t bother changing out of her tank top and shorts. HG didn’t even take her hair out of the high ponytail that it was is, a hair style that she had come to appreciate. There was something more important that she should be doing. She walked to Myka, who had luckily chosen the chair that wasn’t directly facing the door, allowing her to move to the side and slightly behind the Agent. “I’m going to take a shower, as one must, but I wanted to make sure that you were here,” she said. 

Helena peered over Myka’s shoulder slightly and raised an eyebrow. “These look a little old. Are there any from my time? I could give you a first hand account, you know,” she commented, offering a bit of herself that HG knew she could give.

Myka jumped when Helena's voice came from behind her, biting back a surprised curse and adjusting the glasses she was wearing since she was having a lazy day at home.  "Oh, uh yeah.  Just reading up on old cases."  She replied, cheeks flushing slightly as she realized Helena was seeing her in her glasses.

At her next comment she pulled them off with a slight smile.  "I read all of those while trying to get the Regents to reinstate you the first time.  Have to have all the facts if you're going to write a convincing persuasive letter."  She pointed out, revealing that she'd done more than just detail her own encounters with the British agent.

In the end, Captain America does not make the heroic sacrifice, thus further proving that Black Widow can handle the emotional weight of being a lead character. As if anyone could really forget the most quoted line in “The Avengers” — “I’ve got red in my ledger; I’d like to wipe it out” — it helps to have that line fresh in your mind when deconstructing what Widow does in the final act of what’s billed as a Captain America movie. Black Widow doesn’t wipe out the red in her ledger. No, she blasts her ledger out to the world, like it was the grisliest email forward of all time. We know from her heart to heart with Hawkeye that the shame she feels about what she’s done is real, and she hesitates when she realizes that taking down the bad guys means revealing her secrets. But she does it anyway, because she’s not just a spy anymore; she’s a super hero, and she makes a super hero’s sacrifice.

I didn’t even think about it at the time but yeah, Natasha being the one to reveal SHIELDS, and her own, secrets probably took more courage and self sacrifice for her than carjacking an alien in the middle of a galactic sized batte.
