where: the swimming pool of the hotel who: Quinn and Estelle ( @number4-estelle )
The pool was too quiet - there was nobody swimming, and there were no signs of any children running around and screaming and laughing and pushing one another into the water. It felt wrong.
Quinn sat down at the side of the pool and kicked off her shoes. Once she’d rolled up the hem of her pants to her knees, she dipped her feet into the water and sighed.
She heard somebody approach and glanced over her shoulder to see one of the very few people she’d actually been hoping to see. She gave her sister a smile and gestured for her to join her.Â
“The water’s great,” She said, “I promise I won’t push you in.” She’d done that before, in the past, enough times that she’d earned a reputation for it.Â
“What do you think all of this is about?” Quinn gestured around them, at the hotel at large.
“You better not push me in again, this jacket isn’t supposed to get wet.” Estelle laughs before sitting cross-legged next to her sister. She doesn’t want to get too close to the water, but she did enjoy the smell of the chlorine. “I have no idea what this is about really, honestly Im starting to think this is all just an elaborate prank to test us.” Estelle says with a small smirk on her face. Sel put her hand in the water and moved it around a little. None of the last few days have felt totally real, but this water felt real enough to ground her a little. “I thought once we got here, things would make more sense, but so far it makes less sense every second.” She sighs and dries her hand off on her jeans, looking over at her sister to see if she had any thoughts.
