I’m sure Priestley felt better but that’s not actually the outcome anyone should prioritise. There’s allegations of sexual harrassment and sexual assault from 1997, 2004, 2010, 2016 (to cherry-pick a very, very few examples). It’s a nice righteous macho fantasy - all that needs to happen is a big strong man sorts him out once and for all - but it DOESN’T WORK. In reality, the sexual harassment and assaults carried on for another two decades - until the victims felt like they could speak out and actually be heard.

It’s almost as if actually listening to the victims is more important than indulging the urge to solve everything with displays of macho violence.
