For the past few days they had been catching up, enjoying each others company in more ways than one, all without coming to terms with reality. Although she wished it could last much longer, Fury had made sure to make it known that Natasha only had until the end of the week to come back with an answer. Meaning that of course she wasn’t going to leave any sooner than that last day, which had now dawned upon them. As she watched his sleepy head besides him she couldn’t help but to smile a little. Sure, she’d seen him sleep before, but these few days it had been with a new pair of eyes. It was allowed and guilt-free. Now that everything was out in the open, she felt freed in a way. After a moment she started to glide her fingers up and down his bare back before she whispered a soft “come with me” into his ear. She waited for his eyes to open before she spoke again, making sure to look straight at him. “I don’t care if you go back to SHIELD, just come with me.” She moved her hand from his back to his face as she spoke, her fingertips just barely brushing past his skin. “Don’t make me say goodbye to Lucky.”
With the light touches he felt on his back and soft voice he heard beside him, Clint easily woke up from him peaceful sleep. All he could do was yawn and smile before he even had the chance to say good morning, and she was speaking again. “You don’t have to say goodbye, you know?” he frowned, then sleepily blinked a few times so his eyes could focus more on hers. “Stay. Fuck SHIELD, we’ll be able to do whatever we want and no one can say shit about it.” Clint never thought he would be able to feel the type of contentment he felt that whole week, and it was all because of the woman next to him. He was sure that he was done with everything that had to do with SHIELD and nothing was going to change his mind. “Besides, I kinda like waking up like this.” he grinned.
