Foot Fetishism Just As Bad As Pedophilia...
Feel free to read the following link, but if not I’m going to be quoting and providing a quick summary of key points that I found interesting.
Partialism is considered to be “a sexual interest with an exclusive focus of a specific part of the body,” and is classified as a sexual paraphilia not otherwise specified (NOS) by the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). According to scientific research, “the most prevalent form of partialism is podophilia (i.e., sexual arousal from feet).” (Griffith, 2014, para.1)
“The [DSM] criteria for fetishism indicate that the focus must involve the ‘use of nonliving objects’, which eliminates body parts from meeting this criterion.” (Griffith, 2014, para. 3) In other words, a foot fetish isn’t really a fetish according to the DSM.
According to the American Psychiatric Association, a Fetish = Disorder only if the behavior of the individual who has the fetish “causes significant detriment and/or psychosocial distress” to that individual. “If the fetish does not cause significant distress”, then the diagnosis of the Fetish = Paraphilia according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) (Griffiths, 2014, para. 4). Merriam Webster defines paraphilia as follows, “a pattern of recurring sexually arousing mental imagery or behavior that involves unusual and especially socially unacceptable sexual practices (as sadism or pedophilia).”
So basically, regardless of whether you are classified as having a partialism or fetish (if you like non-body related but foot related objects like nylons or shoes) towards feet, you are still among the psychiatric category of having a paraphilia, which according to the DSM-5 is on the same level of psychiatric disorder as a pedophile. WTF, Really?!
"Most studies on fetishistic behavior are either case studies or small-scale surveys where sample sizes are rarely above 100 participants. Additionally, data from the studies examining rare fetishes are typically from psychiatric patients, sex offenders, and/or those who have sought (or have been referred to) a therapist.” (Griffith, 2014, para. 8)
Because that makes the results completely reliable and non-bias…
Scorolli and colleagues reviewed the content found in 381 fetish discussion groups, with an estimated sample size of at least 5000 fetishists (Griffiths, 2014, para. 10). “Their results showed that body part fetishes were most common (33%), followed by objects associated with the body (30%), preferences for other people’s behavior (18%), own behavior (7%), social behavior (7%), and objects unrelated to the body (5%). Feet (and objects associated with feet) were by far the most common fetishes. (Griffiths, 2014, para. 11)

“From this brief overview it’s evident that research is biased towards small-scale studies with biased samples. Therefore, as Dr Shauna Darcangelo concludes in her recent literature review, in order to increase the understanding surrounding fetishistic behavior, future empirical research needs to focus on large, population-based, representative samples. (Griffiths, 2014, para. 12)
What it boils down to is there have not been any studies done on the general population to provide accurate results in regard to human sexuality when it comes to fetishism and kinks. I can only imagine that this is likely related to lack of funding (because I don’t see a millionaire foot guy donating money to a university to do research and essentially throwing himself under the bus), as well as lack of willing participants to any possible study of this nature.
My survey will never be accepted by academia.
I know that. I’m well aware. However, that does not mean that academia will have much of a fight when it comes to my data. They have nothing to compare it to. The combined data in my first two surveys far surpasses any academic study in this field that I am aware of. That said, my first two surveys were full of limitations when it comes to the proper way to perform research.
Survey 3.0 could be huge when it comes to showing academia and the American Psychiatric Association that we aren’t all freaks who need a diagnosis in the DSM-5. The more people that take the time to fill it out, whether you like feet or not, the more we can show them that we are just people who like kink. We are from varying racial, educational, and economic backgrounds.
We love different things, in different ways, and that doesn’t mean there is something psychologically wrong with us.
There are who knows how many thousands of kinky people on this website alone, imagine what we could do.
Why You Should Take An Hour Out Of Your Day To Take My Survey
Have you ever felt ashamed of one of your kinks? Or been treated poorly? Had a lover that didn’t understand or wouldn’t even open their mind to try? Have you ever wanted to tell someone close to you about one of them but did not know how and were fearful that they might look at you differently? Do you feel that mainstream media has the scene completely misconstrued? Do you want to help me fix that?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you should take my survey.
Feel free to post the survey link [ https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NLKinkySurvey ] anywhere you want on the internet to encourage participation.
