i dont understand all the fuckin sexuality discourse these days. I’m a homosexual. i am only attracted to females. my sexuality is not something i can choose or influence.
if i meet a male, i am not attracted to him. why would this change if it’s then revealed that she’s a trans woman? I’m not attracted to the word woman. I’m not attracted to the labels people call themselves voluntarily, because that makes literally no sense.
if you have the capacity to be attracted to both males and females no matter what they call themselves, then you’re bisexual. language and identity do not factor into this because it’s nonsensical to claim that they do.
God, men are...
• SO hot • strong • passionate in their beliefs • totally allowed to express emotion • totally allowed to have preferences • the most complimentary people • REALLY chill • a lot less dramatic • way more fun to play video games with • just extraordinary in general
wrong
imagine the world without men. imagine every little girl forced into sex slavery finally being freed, forever. imagine dancing with your friends under the streetlights without fear. imagine little girls exploring the world and being unafraid to be big and strong and brilliant. imagine getting our forests and oceans back, letting the world heal. imagine the beauty of this world without the plague of men.
This!!!!! Yesss!!!! (Except for my beautiful trans men of course)
I said it once n Ill say it again. Let . girls. be. disgusting. little. oily. gremlins.
Some feminists have made a good point that including male “allies” in women’s spaces is derailing in itself because it always leads to divisiveness among women & weakens solidarity. Many women feel unwelcome or unsafe in feminist spaces (online & irl) that allow men to join discussions, activism, or projects about women’s lives & feminist issues. Then women argue over whether men should be there, whether we need male allies to help us, etc. & it’s such a fucking waste of time. I’ve had that experience myself & it’s so, so alienating when women defend men’s right to be there & have their voices heard, & then scold women who criticise the men. I will never, ever trust feminists who bring men into feminism (looking at you, straight feminists). As much as I can’t stand them, I hate the male “allies” so much more, because I know they feel smug and confident getting validation from women that their opinions are super important & their “help” is super needed, & knowing that these women will drive out other women to make room for them.
I cannot relate or converse with non radfem women anymore because no matter what kind of issue and problem I want to discuss, the second I point out it’s all caused, perpetuated, and done by men and for benefit of men, suddenly they look uncomfortable, they look away, they mumble “no” and then shake their heads and start their talk about “not all men”, they start lining up excuses, explanations, justifications, trying to cut blame into small pieces and disperse it all over society, it’s not just the men, it’s not all of them, women do something unrelated that is somehow equally bad and worth bringing into discussion, men were taught to act this way, eventually it all turns into one big chant “we must not blame men. we must not blame men” and I can talk about globe-wide issues, witch burnings, foot binding, female genital mutilation, slavery, taking human rights from women, marital abuse, pedophilia, rape, necrophilia, destruction of environment, murders, forced impregnation and forced birth, taking women’s last names and their identities, forcing their name onto women’s children, societal brainwashing and Stockholm syndrome, I always get the same feedback “We must not blame men.”
And I get it, I know what’s happening under their conscious thoughts, I know what’s going on in their heads when they look away. “ It would be really painful to believe men are like this after I’ve given them so much love and trust. I don’t want to believe that my male friends, partners, father, brothers, are all like this. They aren’t. This has to have another explanation. If men are truly like this I won’t be able to feel safe anymore. I want to feel safe. If I start believing this then how will I get to work tomorrow, how will I get to class, how will I go home? I can’t survive without men. Calling them out is dangerous. If I were to say something like this to them, they wouldn’t take it well, they would attack me and deny it. I know exact words they would use, I’ll say them all now. I really want this to not be true. If I can explain it away, it might go away. I want to believe they’re good. I want to keep hoping. I can still survive like this. It’s survivable. I want to live in a world where they’re not like that, and maybe if I believe it strongly enough, it will happen. I can remember men doing some good things too, I’ll hang onto those memories. Maybe they’ll change if we give them enough kindness and love.”
And we were all there. We all started from this. And it was a hard step to let go of it. It was a hard step to acknowledge that there’s so many women who won’t survive under tyranny of men. There’s such a large number of women who are tortured every day. Every single woman is taking damage under the male controlled system, and even if some can survive it, for most it’s only matter of time before they’re assaulted, tortured, raped, denied resources, backed into corner, forced to give up their integrity, their resources, their justice, their safety, their life. We already are forced to look at atrocities they do to our sisters, mothers, to our children, and then we have to look away, we have to let it keep happening. I wouldn’t ask women to face harsh realities if I had not believed it’s truly and honestly in their best interests. You can defend men all your life, and still your life might end with man’s hands around your neck, as he tells you that you asked for it. Believing in their good nature won’t save you from men. They already kill women who believe in them, and they kill them slowly, punish them for their trust and empathy, use their compassion against them, use women’s survival instincts to get more and more and more from them.
Getting away from men, or disabling them from harming any woman on this planet is the only thing that has any chance of protecting you. You are worthy of more than men have convinced you. You are life itself and they’re trying to hide it from you. You are a source of life and it’s in their nature to destroy you. You deserve a better life than what men have given you.
this post implies that women have to wear makeup to destroy men?????? this is ableism and lets men oppress us
i fucking hate the queer community. people are identifying as gay. without. being. gay. what the fuck. i fucking hate this
WE ARE NOT SOME COOL CLIQUE YOU CAN JUST JOIN. WE ARE NOT A FANBASE. WE ARE REAL PEOPLE WITH REAL PROBLEMS. OUR EXISTENCE COMES WITH MANY RISKS.
IF I’D COME OUT AS GAY, IT’S HIGHLY PROBABLE THAT I’LL BE HONOUR KILLED, OR BEATEN UP (my community is muslim). MAYBE EVEN CORRECTIVELY RAPED. WHY ARE YOU MAKING FUN OF THIS. WHY DO YOU THINK IT’S FUCKING FUNNY.
“GAY” IS NOT AN IDENTITY. “GAY” IS SOMETHING YOU JUST FUCKING ARE, YOU CAN’T IDENTIFY IN AND OUT OF IT. I CAN’T IDENTIFY OUT OF MY SKIN COLOUR, NOW CAN I?
I’M DONE WITH ALL THESE PRIVILEGED WESTERN PEOPLE USING WORDS THAT DO NOT DEFINE THEM YET GET PRAISED AND ACCEPTED BY THEIR WHOLE COMMUNITY.
I hate men.
I hate that they dominate jobs, women, whatever they want. I hate that they turn women against each other. I hate that they act like lesbians are there for their entertainment. I hate their entitlement. I hate their mansplaining. I hate how they oppress women and take from women and harass women and rape women like we are their property. We are not their property, we do not belong to them.
For any woman who decided to stop shaving, or wishes to stop, and is afraid of public embarrassment, shaming, being called out, judged, and degraded for it, here’s a list of good comebacks for anyone who makes inappropriate comment!
do you tell that to men
you should start telling that to men
you want to tell me men and women aren’t equal? we have to shave and they don’t? (watch them try to wiggle out of that one lol)
i’ll start doing it when all men start doing it, every single one
you know what is disgusting, when men do this same thing, leave their hair as it is, I hate it, and yet you don’t see me harassing them
why can men walk around like this then?
wake up women shaving is capitalistic propaganda
women only started shaving in 1915, when razor companies figured they could get more money if they shame women for their leg and armpit hair
do you think I’m going to give my money to razor companies? to rich old men?? for what purpose? so they wouldn’t shame me? get out of my face
entire population of women was literally bullied into shaving and now you’re trying to bully me into it? good job
what would i gain from shaving my legs tho
not shaving legs already helped me locate the mysgonist congrats its u
did you ever feel the wind blowing through your leg hair ur missing out
it’s a new trend its called being good enough as you are
it’s a new trend its called who the fuck would i have to shave my legs for
it’s a new trend its called protecting your skin from infections
you just laugh, but i’m the one saving money
I decided to educate men they might not be aware that every single woman grows hair all over her body you’re welcome you’re smarter now
it’s special unicorn hair only certain women should grow it u should try it
do you really think if you shame me enough you can control me
shaving trend ended last week didn’t you hear? this must be embarrassing for you
don’t be jealous, i know my leg hair is pretty but i’m sure yours could be too if you tried harder
add more!
So Ive been thinking about this a lot lately and did some research on how much makeup has no redeeming qualities for daily use by women. Here’s what I’ve come up with:
If a woman begins using makeup in her daily routine at age 16 and stops at age 70, giving the benefit of the doubt and saying she only uses it 5 days a week, and spends 30 minutes every morning, she will have spent:
7,020 hours which equals 292 full days WHICH IS ROUGHLY 4/5 of a YEAR
doing makeup in their lifetime.
#wasteyourtimewithmakeup.
And, according to professional research, the average woman will spend $15,000 on makeup and non-necessity toiletries in her life time.
#wasteyourmoneywithmakeup.
And where does that $15,000 and 7,020 hours go to?
Well, I looked up the CEOs of 20 makeup brands and guess what? 17 of them are of course, MEN.
Makeup Companies with male CEOs Urban Decay Maybelline L'Oreal NYX Lancôme Sephora Estée Lauder Revlon Almay MAC Mary Kay Covergirl NARS Bare Minerals Benefit Too Faced
Yup, all ran by men.
And even the ones who are ran by women (I found that Avon and Tarte were female-led), are still creating profit for a patriarchal industry which thrives off female insecurities and reinforces misogynistic gender roles.
And if you’re thinking, “grown ass women can do whatever they want!! Makeup is feminist!”
Let me tell you a thing.
58% of GIRLS ages 8-17 report wearing makeup. 65% of these girls started wearing it before they even turned 13. 8 years old is the average age girls start showing inquisition about this femininity glorifying and oppressive industry.
Oh, and here’s a whopper:
98% of teen girls feel that the pressure to look a certain way is immense and affects their self esteem.
And in this current era of “feminist empowerment via spending hours of time and hundreds of dollars makeup”, the levels of pressure girls and young women are experiencing about looking a certain way are only increasing.
And into adulthood, unsurprisingly, around 50% of women feel bad about themselves when not wearing makeup. This is not normal. Women are literally feeling uncomfortable with their natural state of having a face because makeup culture is such a harsh reality.
But the current trend in new wave feminism is to glorify makeup and pretend that it’s empowering. Do you have more power because you wear makeup? Or are you just continually wasting time and money that men are out spending on work, self care, entertainment, sleep, and other things that actually contribute to rather than deteriorate an individual’s wellbeing?
Maybe you say, “but hey! I like doing my makeup. It makes me feel pretty/artistic/talented/expressive etc”
Here’s a little test I devised for you to see if your use of makeup is unhealthy on a psychosocial level:
-Do you think you are not as beautiful of a person without makeup? -Do you look in the mirror without makeup and feel gross/ugly/have self depreciating thoughts? - Have you ever skipped out on an event because you didn’t feel like applying makeup and/or felt “indecent” to be seen in public without makeup? - Have you ever been frustrated with the lack of sleep, getting up early, or amount of time you spend doing makeup? - Have you ever made fun of or sneered at a woman for not wearing makeup/doing makeup poorly (mentally or verbally)? - Have you ever chose to spend money on makeup rather than something else which you wanted or needed and served an actual purpose for your life or wellbeing? - Have you ever felt that applying makeup was an absolute necessity and that you would not be accepted by colleagues/boss/romantic interests/peers/family if you did not wear some? - Have you ever skipped breakfast, a shower, or another important daily routine because you lacked time and chose to do your makeup instead? - Do you ever see an ad for makeup and choose to buy it not based on the idea that you like it’s look, but that you envied the appearance of the model? - Have you ever said to yourself or someone else that you can’t just not wear makeup, because that’s what women do, or “I’m not the type of woman that can pull off no makeup”
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are not as “empowered” by makeup as you think. In fact, you are allowing yourself to be oppressed by wearing it regularly like this. And there’s a lot more questions you could be asking yourself.
No I don’t think all uses of makeup are bad, I’m sure a very small amount of people wear it because it’s fun and expressive and do it to have fun, not cover up their literal face out of obligation or internalized misogyny.
I plan on doing more research on this, so stay tuned and stuff.
I did this on mobile so I didn’t tag sources, but look it up, it’s all legit.
yes!!!!
We need female-only atheist spaces. Women are affected by patriarchal religions in some really harmful, sex-specific ways that need to be discussed away from obnoxious white male atheists. I’ve had enough Bill Maher and Richard Dawkins quotes for one lifetime.
I want to talk about how being taught that the all powerful God is a man fucks up your sense of self worth and self esteem.
I want to talk about how being raised in a religion where men are the only figures of authority affects women’s self image and belief in their capabilities as leaders.
I want to talk about the fact that in the Catholic Church, priests get a salary and nuns don’t, and how there’s no equivalent of the Pope for nuns.
I want to talk about how the most important and well known woman in Christianity is given value and spiritual importance because of her virginity and acts as a passive vessel in a way that no man in Christianity does.
I want to talk about how Catholic women would have ten or twelve kids because the Church wouldn’t let them use birth control and how this literally killed women.
I want to talk about how Christianity claims to be pro-life, but women can’t get abortions in Catholic hospitals even if they will literally die without one.
I want to talk about the horrors of the Magdalene Laundries and polygamy and honor killings and arranged marriages to men twice or three times their age and all the other shit women are put through in the name of religion.
This isn’t even MENTIONING all the shit that lesbians have to deal with. We need better atheist spaces online, ones that emphasize healing and unlearning harmful shit over posting the same quotes from the same white men and the same memes that boil down to “Lol religious people are stupid”
if you were previously homophobic but realize you were wrong: that’s ok, u are learning if you are struggling with internalized misogyny: that’s ok too, keep fighting to overcome the sexism that society perpetuates if you were accidentally trans phobic but are fixing it: great, we need everyone on our side if at any point u were wrong and are trying to fix it: we accept you and we were all there. keep working to be a good person
god dammit i love not being feminine. i love not spending my money on makeup and razors and all that extra shit that Lush sells. i love not wasting my time trying to be as smooth as possible and trying to get my eyeliner “on fleek”. i love wearing shorts that don’t ride up my fucking crotch and wearing shirts that don’t hug my breasts and wearing shoes that don’t pinch the fuck out of my feet. i love being a good example for young girls. i love answering my little cousin’s question, “why don’t you shave?” even though i get my fair share of shit for it, it’s worth it to be able to let girls and other women that it’s okay to exist in your natural state and be comfortable with yourself.
