its not actually skeuomorphic designs persisted long after the "y2k" aesthetic and overall movement died off. Neumorphism also carries some of that torch but I digress. "y2k" is too broad a term for what specifically I'm talking about and also not in general what I mean. What I WANT is for interesting and characteristic UI design to come back along with UI designers and graphic design artists to be valued and paid <3

TLDR:

less of this:

(minimalism, lack of character, flat boxes/text)

more of this:

(artfully designed, fits the theming of what its used in, has thought put into how its navigated. Look I even included how minimalism can be done intuitively and interestingly with the ps3!)

I don't like to be reductive, and most of my examples exist far outside when "y2k" died as a mainstream aesthetic. Not that it was really one to begin with. The designers of the XBOX UI did not make with the term "y2k" in mind. I just want capitalism to stop killing the art in everything and for artists of all sorts to be valued, ok? :]
