I know, I was supposed to post about this a couple days ago, but… After surviving the sudestada, let’s just say I wasn’t in the mood. (I got caught by the rain and the wind, 3 km away from the place where I was staying. Soaking wet doesn’t begin to cover it)
Anyway, these are going to be several posts, because I have a lot to tell you guys. Not only my experience, but basically, pretty much what all the fans in the concert experienced. (Since I’m a member of the Argentinean Street Team, and one of the admins of the local OOR page, I have access to pretty much every story shared about that day. I’ll be giving credit to each and everyone of the fans, in case you want to get in touch with them)
Let’s start from the begining (just give me reason…) A month ago, more or less, one of our members (Vanessa, I’ll be talking about her, more specifically later) came out with the idea of giving the band the official Argentine football tees. It all happened after me sharing a dream with the rest of the ST, of me giving them tees signed by Diego Maradona (that would’ve been awesome, but he’s not currently in the country). So, we all set in the task of gathering the money. People from all over the country, contributed by making deposits, in the little time they had between work and/or school. At the end, and merely a week before the concert, we managed to gather a bit more than $3000.
Vanessa then, had the tees made specially, by Adidas, for the boys.
My sister in law, Anastasiya (Ani), and I, arrived at Buenos Aires (Baires), the day beofre the concert. We all had plans of meeting with the rest of the fans atending, in the Baires’ Planetarium. (yes, that thing in the back of the picture that looks like an UFO in the take off). The problem was, that the rest of ST, and like 30 other fans, were waiting for the boys to arrive at the airport. They waited for like 10 hs straight. Fortunately, everything went well, and they were able to take photos and get their autographs and all.When we finally met, it was already pretty dark.
During that meeting, I met fans from Praguay and Colombia, who came all the way down here, just to see the band. I was shocked. I know, my country is pretty cheap, compared to the rest of the world, but they had to spend a lot of money to do so. And they don’t belong to first world countries either. If that’s not love, I don’t know what it is.
Anyway, the point of this post was… YES, THAT’S ME HOLDING TORU’S SHIRT THE DAY BEFORE. I was very tempted to rub my face with it, but… It was a mildly hot day, and even if I took a shower before, I had been traveling for hours, in an bus, with a lot of people, and was wearing a very femenine perfume… I was worried it might ruin that sort of “new shirt smell” that it had. Plus, we all know Toru is pretty obsessive about body odor (and fluids).
We also gave the band 2 flags, with the fans’ wishes and messages. Some were in japanese, others in english, and the rest in spanish. I wrote “Thank you for giving meaning to my life. Nani”, in case you wanna know.
