Angsty Rhack AU

Picture the typical Rhack story. Rhys and Jack are dating, maybe engaged. Rhys has a target on his back for being close to Jack, but he is practically untouchable.

They are the sweetest pair imaginable. They work at different levels, but anytime they find themselves in the same room, they both become cuddly and touchy. Every night, Jack makes dinner for them, and they take a bath/shower together, and every morning, Jack gets up extra soon to prepare breakfast and lunch for Rhys, who is not a morning bird at all. 🙂

They have pretty much always been like that, except maybe a little more concealed. But then Rhys got kidnapped, and their relationship changed when Jack finally saved him. Rhys got pretty beaten up while Jack was searching for him. And since then, they appreciate every second they spend together even more. 😔

Now, Rhys doesn’t talk much anymore, and a lot of people jump quickly to conclusions such as that Jack is beating Rhys, or he’s afraid to spill some company secret. But the true reason is that Rhys’ tongue was cut off when he was kept hostage, and the biogenic replacement is not very good, so he avoids speaking as much as he can, fearing that he would stutter.

When they are at home, alone, they basically don’t speak anymore, because Rhys doesn’t like speaking and Jack is silent out of compassion. So, their nights are spent in companionable silence with the only sounds being little smooches and the rustle of fabric. 💞

More I’ve got for this AU: Rhys does not allow anybody to touch his face, and only allows Jack to touch his cheeks or even lips when they are having a nice moment, and it becomes a gesture of love and trust. 🥺

No french kissing because tongue. Only small innocent kissies. 😔 But sooooooooo many of them. Jack kisses Rhys 25 times per minute to make up for the time spent apart.

(NSFW) Rhys was always loud during sex and now he is quiet. 😔 Jack needs to really take him apart if he wants to hear even a little moan.

Imagine if Rhys developed a toothache but refused to see a dentist… He’d be miserable and in pain, maybe have a fever, but Jack just can’t get him to see a doctor. T.T
