Global Fest @ NYUCD

New York University is launching an exciting new initiative designed to enhance community-building opportunities for our students and colleagues within the Global Network University. The inaugural NYU GlobalFest aims to highlight the unique 360-degree view provided through the Global Network University for our students and other members of the NYU community, by featuring the history, traditions, and culture of each of our Global Sites. Events celebrating the diversity of cultures and traditions within the respective communities will be held at every global site within the network. NYU GlobalFest will take place from Sunday, November 4th – Monday, November 12th and the Major Event for the New York site will be held November 7, 2012 in Eisner Lubin Auditorium in Kimmel. All 14 global academic centers (New York, Washington DC, Paris, Florence, London, Shanghai, Madrid, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Accra, Abu Dhabi, Prague, Sydney, Tel Aviv) will be participating in some way. This exciting and innovative initiative marks NYU’s continued commitment to creating a university that is “in and of the world” and to preparing students to become engaged and contributing global citizens.

Just as NYU's founders chose in 1831 to move education out of the ivy tower to be "in and of the city," NYU is now "in and of the world" in a way that defines and exemplifies something that has not existed before: a global network university.
